I gasped for air as I woke up. It took me a few seconds to analyze my surroundings. I sat up and noticed the soft, king sized bed I was sitting on. Everything in my room was mostly white with gold accent marks here and there, or I thought it was. I couldn't see well in the dark. Something seemed familiar about this place.
I looked out the huge floor-to-ceiling windows in front of me. Below was a huge town, a city, glimmering from the moonlight up above. Then it clicked.

I looked down at myself and saw the satin nightgown I was wearing. Definitely a princess. As I took a deep breath and tried to relax, I heard the sound of soft, rustling feet to the right of my bed.
"I see you've woken up, Princess."
I turned my head so fast, and was met with the cold, grey eyes I know I would never admit to missing.
