I remember one time I was telling an interviewer that Room 93 is about a few different people I've pursued or been pursued by and she was pretty much like "wow u get around".
She thought I fucked all of them.
Maybe I did.
It doesn't matter. I write songs about people I met once. People I kissed once. People who led me on for months and months and people to whom I've done the same. I write songs about other people's relationships that they've told me all the gritty details of. I have an appalling love for human beings and an overwhelming attention to detail.
I fall in love quickly. Because 3 weeks with someone leaves me lamenting over their nervous ticks, the creases in their eyes when they smile and the creases in their button down shirt from having elbows bent and hands on head out of frustration. The number of eyelashes on their right eye. Or the specific pattern they toss and turn in every night.
I write about people.
