The dark, thundering grey clouds loomed over the city, blocking out any ray of light that threatened to leak through. There were areas of lighter grey, areas of darker grey, but the sky was just grey. Bland. Boring. There was nothing new, nothing to change those clouds, so they remained the same, everlasting, never changing.
Rain poured down from the heavens in a torrent, leaking into onto the roads, soaking the ground and rooftops, bending the leaves of trees so that they looked downwards, heads bent. There stood not a single inch of revealed area that wasn't wet.
No sane person would ever walk in this horrid weather, umbrellas or not. Not that the umbrellas would do their job. The rain beat down so hard that it was sure to bend it hard out of shape. The wind would snap the brittle branches of it in half and blow it out of one's grasp, no matter how desperately they reached out towards it.

Two complete strangers, yet they felt as if they'd met before. Was it a mere feeling, or was it something more?
There was silence, nothing more than the pitter patter of the rain upon the cobblestone road. It was as if even the wind and animals held their breath right there and then, and the moment was reserved solely for the pair.
Two complete strangers, yet they stared and stayed, as if a magnetic force kept them stuck to the ground, and another bind kept them from speaking.
Then, it was the female who broke the silence, breaking the bind.
Her lips parted, and although her eyes reflected nothing at all, it was as if she saw straight into the other's soul. An untamed beast, roaring and writhing under his cover. Untamed, wild, vicious and strong, yet it relented under the stare that didn't see.
"Is there a reason you feel such sorrow?"
Two complete strangers, yet that day, under the harsh tears from heaven, they both felt comfort they hadn't felt in years.
