body trembling, fingers curling into the rough cement beneath me

thoughts swirl, and swirl, and whirl

     i want to get out of here

the clock ticks

wool encases my brain

and i can't remember anymore, were we playing a game?

my vision sparkles and shatters into fragments of a collapsing star,

     my body feels like it's covered in a
     layer of glitter

in that moment alice and i are free,

and we're ruling over wonderland just as it should be,

with the lower, the unworthy, the filthy, rightfully kneeling at our feet

gods, if that's not a beautiful sight

opium is a narcotic that was often used on patients in order to sedate them when they had fits. this practice was especially heavy during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as addiction was not well known, causing physicians to hail opium as a sort of "wonder drug".
