Part 4

CARINA'S POV
I walked upstairs and after showering I headed over to Kiara's room.
I knocked the door and came in, she was already in bed reading a book.
"Hey" I said as I sat down on the chair of her desk "can we talk?" I asked as she put down her book and sat up
"About?" She asked
"I wasn't stalking you Kiara." I said almost laughing.
"Yeah yeah, sure" she said
"I promise. I wasn't stalking you" I said
She laughed and said "it's okay mom. How did your night go?"
Okay, what was I supposed to answer to that.
"It was fun. Real fun" I said "so I wanted to ask you something"
She looked at me kinda in surprise and said "okay sure?"
"So, em. Tomorrow night." I said without knowing how to say it
"Mom. Ask" said Kiara laughing
"I'm going on a date" I spit out waiting for her reaction.
"That's amazing. Someone from the hospital?" She asked really calm about it
"Nop, not the hospital" I said
"Do I know him?" Asked Kiara
"Emm, not really. Works at the fire station" I said
"Uhhh firefighter" she said lifting her eyebrows "do we have a name?" She asked
"Emm. Kiara" I said
"Mom what's wrong" she laughed "is he a criminal?"
"Her name is Maya" I spit out and saw she was looking at me in confusion
"Oh" she said "and she is a firefighter?" She asked

KIARA'S POV
Wow, that was kinda shocking. I mean how did I never noticed. Course it didn't bother me, just got me with my guard down.
"Yeah she is" said mom.
She seemed nervous, uncomfortable more like she was waiting for my approval
"Mom." I said smiling
"Si mi amore?" She said
"Just why are you "asking" me?" I said
"Just want to know if it is okay with you" she said
"Mom, if it makes you happy. That's all I could care about." I said as I hugged her

CARINA'S POV
She was amazing, she was okay with Maya. I mean not with Maya since she didn't know her. But she was okay with the fact I was going out with her.
As she hugged me I pulled her into me. Kissing her top head and pulling my arms around her. I hated she had grown up, I missed her being my little baby.
"I love you" I told her as I kissed her head

MAYA'S POV
I was showered and in my bed. Had to sleep well, tomorrow I was going o out for a run.
Couldn't stop thinking about Carina. How could she be so perfect. We were having dinner tomorrow and I was planning on that to go perfect.
6am my alarm went on. I got up and changed for running. I was taking a beach run. That always relaxed me.

KIARA'S POV
Damn I was already on my third mile of my morning run. Three miles more to go. I always loved running at the beach. It just got my head cleared from lots. The whole run I was thinking about mom. How could I not notice. I mean, had she been hiding it from me? Or was she just scared to comment it to me?
As I thoughts ran through my head I realised I was tackled to the floor.

MAYA'S POV
Probably just an easy day at the station. Not gonna be that much. Andy was coming to help me get ready for my date after our shift was over. I loved to run as I though about my day in my head. But Carina's thoughts just made me distract way too much since I missed the guy running with his huge dog towards me.
I tried to dodge them and I did, just I didn't noticed the young women who I literally run into.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry" I said standing up and stretching a hand to her to help her up.
She was kinda laughing and took my hand as I pulled her up. "No worries" she said smiling.
She was so familiar to me. She just. She was
"I'm so sorry. You okay?" I asked feeling awful
"Really no worries, everything okay" she said smiling again.
Carina. That was Carina's smile. Course I said nothing. I just made sure she was fine. She had a scratch on her knee but apart from that she seemed okay. She was just so happy despite I had literally tackled her to the floor.
"Nice run" she said and winked as she placed her AirPods back on
"Same" I said "and I'm so so sorry" I said again
She laughed and said "no worries, really made my run an adventure" she laughed and kept on running

KIARA'S POV
Okay what the hell was that. Kinda funny tho.
After my watch beeped at the fifth mile I headed home and as I got there the heat hit me 
Mom was somehow obsessed with the house being warm. Which I hated since argh too much heat.
Took off my shoes, socks, jacket and shirt. And headed to the kitchen in shorts and sport bra. Mom wasn't up, since her huge coffee machine wasn't on nor warm and there wasn't a day when she didn't have coffee in the morning.
I got my blender and shaker and got my shake ready. As I sat walked to the living room I heard moms room opening and she came still in her pijamas.
"No, no, bambina no" she said and went back to her room and came back with a hoodie "wrap up"
"Mom I just came from running in literally boiling" I said which was true since my face was still red from the heat
"Then go shower. You're sweating and you are gonna catch a cold" said Carina as she kissed her head and headed to the kitchen and came out again
"You're bearfoot?" Said carina looking at her feet "you wanna get hypothermia or?"
"Mom it's boiling in here! It's like being at a spa" I said laughing
"I love it like this" laughed carina. "What happen to your knee?" She said pointing at her bleeding knee
"Oh I really don't know how but, a lady tried to dodge a dog and kinda tackled me" I laughed and mom also laughed
"What?" She laughed "hahah and you want me to run with you? Yeah that's not happening" she said
I laughed and headed to my bathroom to shower.

CARINA'S POV
God, it's tonight. Tonight is my date. Shoot shoot shoot. Okay okay I've got this.
Kiara came out of her room still wrapped in a towel. Gosh this girl just loves to catch cold
"Okay I said go get showered so you could warm up and you came in a towel?" I said form the couch
"I'm waiting for my hair to dry" she said
"Use a hair dryer? You literally have 30 in your bathroom" I said
She came cutely and sat across my lap and laid her head on my chest "someone's nervous for her date?" She laughed
I laughed and said "right, said the girl who  tried 40 outfits last night?"
Kiara laughed and said "oh no no, I admit it. I was nervous as hell. Why are you nervous?" She asked
"I'm not nervous" I said
"You so are" she said
"You were warned" I said at tickled her since I knew she hated tickles ever since she was a baby
"No no no mom no" she said as she twisted "no no, stop. Mom I'm literally in a towel and you're unwrapping it!" She said as she laughed
"That's kinda why you should get dressed and not like if you were in summer" I said as I stop tickling her and kissed her cheek
"Wanna have lunch together?" She asked "you know I'm working today right?" I laughed
"Course I know" she said
"You are volunteering to eat hospital food?" I said laughing
"Uh, you should make the food at the hospital" she laughed "and yeah hospital food it is" she said laid her head back on my chest.
