Emma slept for the day, only to see it was dark outside when she arose from her slumber. She looked around confused and was still in a sleeping daze. Ray was still asleep, due to him staying up even later than Emma the night before. He hadn't intended to sleep for so long, but he was still asleep nonetheless. Emma got up and looked in her bag, taking out her homework and trying her best to do it. A while later she finished, only a couple answers were right but she tried. After she finished, Ray finally woke up. Yawning, he looked over at Emma; and tilted his head. "You did your homework?" He sounded pretty shocked. Emma nodded, turning her homework to face him. "Yeah look! How did I do?" She asked him. Taking the homework, Ray examined it closely. "You only got a few right." He stated, handing the packet back to her. "But nonetheless, I'm glad you did it." Smiling, Emma set the homework back in her bag. "So that's good right?" She asked and laid back down onto her bed. Ray scratched the back of his head, shrugging. "Well you got more right than usual, so." He smiled a bit, nodding. "If you keep working, your grades should get better in no time." Giving her a thumbs up, he patted her shoulder reassuringly. Emma felt proud of herself. "Thanks. I'll try better in school, I promise!" Shooting her a thumbs up again, he smiled. "Glad to here that, then." He said, taking his other hand off her shoulder. Ray hoped that she'd keep the promise of hers. "It's not time to get up for school, but I'm not tired at all." She complained and laid her face in a pillow. Ray glances over at the time, and shrugged. "Well, we did sleep for a good part of the day." He replied, getting up and stretching. "Yeah but I feel like when we do get up. I'm gonna be tired." Ray shrugged. "Well, you might wanna try and get some more sleep then." He replied, not really knowing how to help her. "I know but it's hard! I feel to energized." She laughed a bit. "How about you tire yourself out, then?" He suggested, scratching the back of his head. Emma tilted her head slightly. "Like running around outside, would that work?" She asked and got up, getting off her bed. Ray shrugged, slowly nodding. "I mean that could probably work." Emma looked around and slipped her shoes on. "Alright, then I'll go and do just that!" Ray also slipped his shoes on, deciding he'd fill her. Mostly just to make sure she didn't run off, or get hurt at all. Emma didn't realize he was following her. She walked outside then began to run across the street. Ray tilted his head in confusion. He has mostly expected her to run around the yard or something. Picking up the pace, he ran after the girl. Emma smiled to herself as she ran down the street. Ray took a deep breath, trying to catch his breath. They had done a good amount of running, luckily Emma wasn't hurt at all, and that's all that mattered to him. Emma had eventually made it to the end of the street, and watched the cars pass by on the road while she sat on the sidewalk. She was tired and a bit out of breath. Ray walked over, sitting next to her. "Geez, you sure ran a lot." He said, resting his head on his knees. Emma jumped in shock and looked over at him. "Oh hey, Ray! I didn't know you we're gonna follow me." He chuckled a bit. "Well I did. Though I didn't expect you to go all the way down the street." Emma leaned against him. "I thought it would be the best way to lose energy. The farther I ran the more energy I would lose." "That's fair." He sighed, taking a deep breath. "Well, are you tired now?" He asked, crossing his arms. Emma slowly nodded. She rubbed her eyes tiredly and looked down. "Yeah, I'm super tired now." Ray got up from the ground. "Alright, let's head home then." Emma looked up at him, making grabby hands. "I'm to tired to walk." Ray stared at her for a moment, then turned around. "Get on my back again." He bent down a bit so she could hop on. Emma immediately sat up from the ground and got on his back. As soon as she did she fell asleep. Though, she still held on tightly. He was quite tired out, so Ray decided just to walk home. It took a while, but once he was inside, he set Emma down on her bed, pulling the covers over her. Emma yawned slightly and turned to his direction. She opened her eyes a little and smiled at him. "Thank you.." He nodded. "Sleep well." He then went over to his own bed, laying down. Emma closed her eyes and fell asleep. She began banging pots and pans again. Ray groaned, sitting up. "Why do you think it's necessary to bang those again?" Emma laughed a bit. "How else am I supposed to wake you up?" He got out of bed, grabbing a shirt to wear. "Maybe by shaking me awake?" Emma looked at a couple of clothes and picked out an outfit to wear. "Have you seen how scary you are in the morning? I have a feeling you'd smack me before I could get that close." He chuckled. "How am I scary?" He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. Emma laid back onto her bed. "Just think back to every time I didn't want to do my homework." She mumbled. "I don't think I was THAT scary." He rolled his eyes. "What about the time I threw a temper tantrum? Still think you weren't that scary?" She asked and sat up. He crossed his arms. "I'm sure I wasn't that bad." Emma shook her head. "If that, 'wasn't to bad' to you, then what is bad?" She hummed. "Well- I don't know. What do you think is bad?" He grabbed his bag, making sure he had all his supplies. "When your yelling at me and just stop all of a sudden." She looked through her bag as well. Not as she had anything in there, she just wanted to look like she was doing something. He paused. "What do you mean stop all of a sudden?" Ray stopped looking through his bag, quickly zipping it up and putting it on. Emma put her bag on as well. "Like last time, when you were so tired and couldn't yell anymore, so you used the stern voice on me." He blinked a few times, nodding slowly. "I don't see why that would be scary." Emma shrugged and sat on her bed. "Well you don't usually yell at me much, then getting stern. Scary." He chuckled slightly, starting to walk out the door. "Whatever you say, I guess." Emma sat up, immediately following behind him. "Anyways I have everything ready for today, so don't worry." Ray looked at her. "You have you keys?" He reminded. He didn't want to have another rerun of last time. Emma thought for a minute. "Yeah! I think.." She mumbled the last part. He stared at her for a moment, shaking his head. "Check you bag first, we don't want to leave without them again." She shook her head. "I don't need to, Ray. I definitely have it in my bag." She said proudly, even though she wasn't sure. He crossed his arms, slowly nodding.  "Whatever you say, I guess." He paused. "But we better not have to break through the window again later." She smiled. "I promise we won't have to! I don't even want to think about going through the window again as I got hurt last time!" He huffed. "Whatever you say." They walked out the door and started there walk to school. Emma made sure to lock the door from the inside before running after him. "Ray! You believe me don't you?" She asked. He shrugged. "No, no I don't." He grinned a bit. "Wanna know WHY I don't believe you?" He glanced over at her. Emma looked confused. "What? That's mean! Why don't you believe me, I am very trustworthy!" She crossed her arms and turned away. He put his hands into his pocket, digging something out. The sound of keys jingling could be heard when he pulled it out. "I don't believe you, because I know you don't have them. I do." He grinned. Emma watched in shocked. She immediately looked away embarrassed. "Oh. You were going to let me leave without them?!" She tried to turn the fault off her. He rolled his eyes. "Isn't it your fault you left them there, and I had to grab them." He put the keys back in his pocket. "Nope, of course not!" She walked next to him and stood on her toes, setting her arm on his shoulder. "You should know I forget them, so it's not my fault. Right?" He paused for a moment, blinking a few times. "But it's your fault you forgot them in the first place?" She shook her head. "Not at all! I am very responsible! It's just this one time I forgot them!" "This /one/ time? You forgot them the other day too." He hummed. "Alright, maybe the second time, but if you know I forget them, then you should have reminded me!" She groaned. "You should stop forgetting them though!" She covered her ears for a second. "It's not my fault! I try my hardest not to!" He rolled his eyes. "Uhuh, sureee you do." He sighed "Hey! That's not nice!" She crossed her arms and pouted. "Who said I'm nice?" He joke, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Why are you so mean to me? I live with you, so you should be nice!" She yelled.  "Hmm.. Should I? I dunno." She tried to hold in tears. "Why don't you like me?" She turned away. He paused for a minute. "Hey calm down, I'm just joking around." She looked at him and put her arms out for a hug. "Please?"  He nodded pulling her in for the hug. She took a deep breath and hugged him tightly. "Thank you. I feel better now." He ruffled her hair a bit. "Alrighty." He pulled away after a moment. She laughed softly and fixed her hair. "We should get going now." "Yeah probably." He paused for a moment, looking down the street. "I'll race you." He started running ahead of her. She ran as well and stayed next to him, smiling a bit. Her mood had changed again in seconds. Honestly, he had never understood how easy it was to change how Emma felt. Ray began to start running faster, making his way ahead of her. Emma stopped for a quick second to take off her jacket; she tied it around her waist. When she looked up at him still walking a bit she blushed softly. That's when it hit her. She liked him. She laughed to herself and continued running again.
