"What time is it again? I'm so tired but I can't seem to fall asleep." The redhead sat up slowly and looked over at the male beside her. She stared at him for a couple of seconds, smiling. "I never noticed how peaceful Ray looks sleeping." The girl leaned closer to him to examine his face more. "He's kinda cute like this." She mumbled to herself. The moment she realized what she said the girl started to blush a lot. "What am I saying? Be quiet Emma and just go back to sleep." She laid back down and closed her eyes, it didn't do anything though, she was still unable to fall asleep. A couple of minutes later she opened her eyes after feeling a slight shifting in the bed. Ray was now laying directly in front of her. They were both on their sides and staring at each other. Well, Ray was still asleep. Emma on the other hand went red again. She looked at his face and continued to stare. She was too nervous to move to in case of accidentally waking him. The girl had no idea what to do, she thought about just going back to sleep but she knew no matter how hard she tried it would be too difficult for her. She had to wait for him to move before she could do anything. So she did. She waited, and waited, and waited until finally the male turned around and moved slightly farther away from her. Emma took that as a chance to get up. The girl headed out to the living room where she rested on the couch. She turned the tv on and tried to find something to watch to pass the time. After a couple of minutes of searching, she found a horror movie and decided that's what she wanted to watch. The movie was almost two hours and the time on the clock said one thirty-five. It wouldn't be that late. She did sleep all night and would only be up two hours before falling asleep again. Well, at least she hoped she could fall back asleep again. She turned the movie on and stared up at the screen. The movie seemed to end faster than expected. In all honesty, Emma was pretty freaked out. She didn't watch horror movies that often and this one scared her. It wasn't too bad until she heard a noise from outside. In reality, it was just a stray dog knocking into a trash can, but it scared Emma enough that she practically sprung off the couch and ran back into the room. Ray was still asleep and she didn't want to wake him, then again she didn't want to go into her bed. It wasn't just because she was scared, which was one of the reasons but the other was because she thought it would be awkward if Ray woke up to find she went back to her bed. Emma looked at the male and walked over to his bed. She hesitated for a moment before climbing in right next to him. She laid herself down and made sure he was still sleeping, which thankfully for Emma he was. She closed her eyes and felt herself drifting off to sleep again. A couple of hours had passed and it was six in the morning. Emma was suffering from a terrible nightmare. She was whimpering and rolling around. The movie had scared her and she was suffering the consequences. She started breathing heavily but was soon shook awake. "Emma. Hey, idiot wake up." A voice called out. The girl sat up with a huff. "Huh? Ray, what happened?" She asked in a tired voice. She rubbed her eyes and took a couple of deep breaths. "Nightmare, I guess. I don't know but you looked uncomfortable so I decided to wake you up." He shrugged, sitting down next to her. "There's no school, we're off for a week because of the Fourth of July." He explained, letting his legs hang off the bed. "Yes! That's great we can do many fun things this week!" She said excitedly as if she had completely forgotten about the nightmare incident that happened not even a couple of minutes ago. Ray gave her a stern look. "Just because we off for that week doesn't mean we get to mess around the whole time, there's an upcoming test the two of us need to study for. Especially you, Emma. Little miss falls asleep in class during important lessons." He said sarcastically and crossed his arms. "God. Alright, dad." She teased and stuck her tongue out at him. "First, don't call me that, also, I made breakfast. It's your favorite. Pancakes with berries. Come eat before it gets cold. I know your picky so come now. Oh, and try not to make a mess while your at it." He got up and walked out of the room, heading towards the kitchen again. He sat at the table and waited for her. Emma sat up and headed to the bathroom. She washed her face with warm water then washed her hands with water that was a little cooler. Once she finished she dried herself off, then she went to the table and sat next to Ray. "Sorry if I took too long." She smiled nervously and began to eat. "It's fine, you don't need to apologize." He began to eat as well but something triggered his senses. He grabs a napkin and held it under Emma's face just in time to catch the syrup that fell from her face. "I thought I told you to be careful. Syrup stains aren't easy to get out of clothing, you know?" He scolded and wiped her face off. "Jeez ok, I'm sorry. Can I finish eating now?" She asked and pulled away from him. "Yeah sure, whatever. Just don't make a mess. You're not the one doing laundry." He rolled his eyes and went back to eating. A while later Ray finished and put his plate in the sink. He looked at the mess around the house and sighed. "Emma, when your done eating, I want your plate. Then you should go study, although I don't think you'll do that anyway." He said the last part under his breath and sighed. Emma looked over at him and nodded. "Alright, I'll be done soon." She continued to eat. It wasn't long before she finished. The redhead quickly wiped her face off before Ray noticed and then proceeded to grab her plate, bringing it over to him. "Here you go Ray, also I have a question for you." She walked over to the counter and sat down at one of the chairs. "Elaborate." The raven-haired male said. He turned the faucet on in the sink and waited for the water to warm up so he could begin to wash the dishes. "Well, I know the Fourth of July is tomorrow so I wanted to know if you wanted to watch the fireworks with me tomorrow night." She asked hopefully. She wanted him to go with her because she thought it would be a great way for them to get closer. Ray thought about it as he rolled up his sleeves and began to wash all the dirty dishes. "Tell you what, Emma. If you do five missing assignments today. I'll go, but you need to try on them. Don't just do it halfway. Get them done and I'll go." He glanced over at her for a quick second then continued cleaning. "Hm, alright. Sounds like a fair deal." She got up and pushed her chair in. Quickly, she headed off the room and looked through her book bag. There were a lot of missing assignments but she only needed to do five so she was grateful for that. She randomly picked out five assignments, a clipboard, extra scrap paper, a pencil, and an eraser. She sat down on her bed and quickly got to work. It wasn't easy and it took her at least five minutes to solve a problem but she worked on it and chose not to give up. Ray was busy cleaning the house. He couldn't stand to see it in the state it was in any longer. Once he finished the dishes the male worked on the laundry. He washed clothes, folded them, and repeat. It took a little more than two hours to finish the laundry. Once he folded all the clothes he went back to the dishes that had been air drying a bit and wiped them off with a towel before putting them away in the cupboards. He worked on that for a while but after about an hour he finished his work. Next, he had to work on putting the laundry away. It was already neatly folded, but he still needed to put the clothes where they belong. He grabbed some of Emma's clothes and some of his own then headed to the bedroom. He pushed the door open slightly with his foot and walked in. He began to put the clothes away in the drawers when he caught a glimpse at Emma. "You're doing your work? I didn't think you were serious about that." He teased and turned away, setting the rest of the clothes away. "Hey! Of course, I'm gonna do it, I'm on assignment four so that means after this one I'll only have one more. I want to see the fireworks with you so I will finish this work." She smiled and went back to her work. Ray nodded and left the room to grab more clothes to bring back to the room and put away. Every time he returned he noticed the girl was working hard. He was proud. He knew these missing assignments were going to help her grades and she was getting a little bit smarter after each problem. Ray quickly finished putting the laundry and fell back onto his bed. He was pretty exhausted after all his work. Emma was feeling the same way. She finally finished all her assignments and set them in her bag. Once she did that she laid back onto her bed and sighed. "Finally done..." She mumbled under her breath. The girl wanted to celebrate by doing something but was just way too tired. The two of them closed their eyes and both fell asleep. Satisfied with the things they had accomplished in one day.
