As I bent down to pick up the snake Milo that roamed the bushes, I heard my mom yell for me.
"NANI GET INSIDE"
As I looked up to my apartment doorstep I see my mother in her nightgown waiting for me.
I looked over at the group of neighborhood kids and waved before running to my mom.
She held my hand tight as we walked past the usual group of guys smoking in the staircase.
Once we reached our apartment B18 me and my mom walked in and immediately were hit by the smell of alcohol and weed.
"Where the fuck were you hoes?Probably out hoeing just like your mother does",my sperm donar slurred as he began to inch closer to me and my mom.
My mom quickly grabbed my arm and pushed me behind her.
"Bitch were you cheating on me?Dumb ass hoe get you and your ugly ass daughter and get the fuck out of here",he slurred once again before grabbing a chunk of her hair and slamming her to the ground.

I watched from my bedroom door crack as my father beat on my mother for the 3rd time this morning.
Only this time it was because he didn't like the glass she gave him water in.
As I pressed against the crack leaning closer the door creaked open.
"What lil nigga?You what some more of what I gave you last night?Matter of fact get yo lil nosy ass over here!",my "father" slurred as he let my mom up off the floor
I slowly walked over to him before he snatched me up by hood before dragging me closer to him.
I could already see the white residue on his nostrils.
I quickly exhaled and closed my eyes before feeling a punch to my chest following a gut punch, I was then dropped to the floor.
As I hunched over I watched as my mom glanced over at me before grabbing his hand and walking to their room.
