You were in the restaurant and waiting for your boyfriend

You were in the restaurant and waiting for your boyfriend. It had been almost 2 hours but he hadn't shown up yet. You just ordered a glass of fresh juice and wondering when he would appear.

The waitress came up to you. "Would you like to order something ma'am?"

"Oh, I'm expecting someone else. Then we'll order together."

You smiled at her but she just sighed and walked away.

You felt like you wanted to cry. Scott had been your crush since middle school and when he asked you out last month, you hardly believed it was real. But you two did go on a couple of dates and you enjoyed both- ofc you did, you were with Scott.

But now, you couldn't think why he would be late today when it's only your third date together! Did he decide to go back to his ex again? Being a cute and popular guy in high school, it wasn't hard for him to get a girlfriend since a lot of girls fancied him.

You remembered the day he told you he had feelings for you and asked you out. He asked to you go hang out at his place but you chose a small coffee shop near your house. You now wondered if you were too plain and boring for him. If he saw other cool pretty girls, who will guarantee that he might not leave you for them?

You were brought back into reality by a voice.

"Miss, can I have your order now?"

You looked up and saw the same waitress. She was looking very grumpy now.

"I know you're waiting for someone, maybe your boyfriend, but there are a lot of other customers coming in and we need tables."

"Sorry, I will call him." You immediately dialed up him but there was no answer. Seconds passed by and the waitress was losing her patience.

"Miss..."

You was fighting back tears and swallowed hard. How could Scott ignore you? How could he put you in this situation?

"Hey, babe, sorry I'm late."

A man came up to your table and had a seat across you. To your surprise, you had never met him before, let alone call you babe.

The man was so good-looking even the waitress seemed intimidated. She looked no longer grumpy.

"It's okay, sir. What would you two like?"

"Two chicken breasts with mashed potatoes and grilled apple salad." He mused. "And two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice."

You stared at this stranger unbelievingly. He saw this and grinned.

"And of course, I'll pay babe."

He smiled at the waitress making her to turn red. She told you guys to wait for a few minutes and left.

"Why are you doing this?" You started.

"I saw you needed help over here and I couldn't help but step in." He smiled.

"I didn't need help!" You replied rather in a defensive tone.

He looked at you and smiled for a second. "I saw you were sitting here alone for like 2 hours. No men should treat his lady like this. Cut him."

"What, how did you know I've been here for this long?" Then you chuckled. "And you're telling me to cut my boyfriend." But you stopped because he looked serious.

"I'm not telling you what to do. It's your choice." He sighed. "But I can guess this guy's a jerk. You should remove people like these from your life. I'd say the same thing to my sister."

He stared at him and saw genuineness in his eyes. You phone vibrated and you checked you notifications. A text message came from Scott.

You blocked him

You blocked him. The handsome stranger was curious what you were doing but did not tried to look at your phone or ask you.

"I've blocked him. We're done."

You laughed and he grinned happily. "Nice! Congrats! By the way, I'm looking like a creep. I'm Adam. Adam Chance. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand.

"Chance, charming name." You reached out and shook his hands. "I'm Y/N  Y/L/N."

"Beautiful," He beamed. "Like you."

You blushed a little but then the food came.

"Enjoy." Chance winked at you. "You look starving."

"I really am!" You joyfully took a massive bite of delicious chicken. Chance laughed out loud.

You two chatted in the diner for hours and then came out. The street lights were already on and the evening pastel sky was so beautiful.

"Thanks for the dinner." You turned to him.

"Thanks for letting me." He gave a lingering smile. You couldn't help but blush and Chance did noticed this.

"Oh, can I have your number by the way?" Chance pulled out his phone from his jeans. "We're friends now right?"

"Yes, Of course!" You added your number in his contacts and he saved it at once.

"So...umm..it's getting late now." You scratched your head lightly. "See you around I guess."

"Yap! I'll...umm...call you." Chance replied with a blush.

"Bye!" You guys waved goodbye exchanging smiles. As you walked back home, you felt warm and happy.
