Marinette Away From Gotham

Chapter 2: The Meeting

Marinette P.O.V

I find Jason staring at me in shock and he blinks rapidly as if trying to see if it was an illusion. I awkwardly smile at him and ask, "What did you need sir?" He stays quiet and just stares at me, I shuffle my feet and he finally snaps out of it. He opens his mouth and hesitates before saying, "I need a suit and don't think you're out of my questions Blueberry Pixie." I nod and gesture him to follow me to the back of the store to get the measurements for the suit.

As I set up everything I took out the extendable tape measure and brought it to 3 feet to measure his arm length. After I did this he clears his throat and asks, "Is this where you have been for the last few years?" I said yes and  continued to do measurements while answering the questions fired away and avoiding the questions that I didn't want to answer. After he asked most of the questions he had, I know he has more but I can tell that he can tell I would be uncomfortable with them so he stopped, I asked, "How are you and the family?" He grimaced and said, "The demon spawn has not been doing well since you were gone, he's easily set off now. Alfred has taken breaks so that's unusual, but other than that nothing has been going on. We all miss you ya know. How have you been? Anything new or exciting?" I chuckled and thought 'you have no idea' but instead I just said, "Yeah a little bit, y'know opened multiple stores, made new friends, met new people, had kids, I'm an aunt, nothing much." He nodded but then went wide eyed as he realized what I said. "You have kids?!" I laughed and nodded as I got tears in my eyes from how funny he looked rapidly blinking and trying to process everything.

After he sat down and finally got out of his stupor he suddenly looks like a baby in a candy store. He starts firing questions at me like, "Who's the father" "How many" "How old are they" "What are they like" "Can I meet them" and things similar. I patted his head and said, "Slow your roll tiger I'll answer some of your questions. I have 2, a boy and a girl. They are in high school. And yes you can meet them." He squealed but realised what he was doing so he faked a cough and cleared his throat while looking away. I sighed and shook my head, "Well I'll have your suit done in a week so if you need anything I'll give you my number so we can talk about it. And we can talk about when you can meet the kids."

I took him to the store front so he could pay for the first half of the payment and after I gave him my personal and work phone number. He left soon after that and so I closed up the shop as he was my only appointment for the day. I had two hours before I had to pick up the kids from school so I headed to the car to go and get fabric for the suit at my fabric store.

*Sigh* 'I hope I only see Jay-Jay and not the whole family'

(A/n Sorry that this isn't a long chapter I had writer's block but now I'm back-ish. I'll hopefully post something Monday or Tuesday but then I'll be somewhere that doesn't have Wi-Fi or anything for a while. Have some funny pictures. Love y'all and thanks so much for the support!)
