Lilith.
I almost killed Umbitch the blobfish today. But that's becoming a normal occurrence.
Pansy wanted to try and play Skip-Bo. So now I'm trying to teach her how to play that in the common room.
"Lilith!" Warrington says loudly from across the common room.
"Hold on," I say to Pansy and get up, walking over to Warrington, who is sitting at a round table. "Hm?"
"We were going to start setting up for the party," he says, smiling at me. "Do you wanna help?"
I open my mouth, but I'm cut off by someone's hands on my shoulders.
"She's busy until she gets ready for the party," Riddle's voice comes from behind me. "We need to finish our Potions essay."
I turn to look at him. "Can't we do that this weekend?" I ask quietly, so only he can hear.
He shakes his head. "You're going to say that every time," he says just as quietly. "I'll drag you away from him if I have to."
"Fine."
He smiles smugly at me before turning me completely around by my shoulders. "Ladies first," he says, gesturing for me to start for the door.
"I hate you," I mutter, grabbing my bag and walking out of the common room, leaving my robes there. He continues to follow me with his hands on my shoulders.
When we get to the library, and to the back where no one can see us, I shove him up against the wall. He looks momentarily surprised. Good.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I ask semi-quietly. "Seriously, what's your problem? You waltz into this school like you own it. Then you act like you control me. Cut it out."
A small smirk comes into his lips and he tilts his head slightly, leaning towards me. "I don't act like anything, Darling."
"I'm so going to enjoy punching you one day," I grumble, going and sitting down in a chair, leaving him there.
He starts walking towards me, grabbing a book again and sitting down.
And we go through the same routine we did.
☯︎︎
I flip him off as I grab my robes from the couch and walk up the stairs. I hear a "damn, man, she's really pissed at you" from Nott and a "fuck off" from Riddle.
I start to get ready. The other girls leave before me, and I can hear them start to play music as I'm getting my dress on.
✨anotha dress✨
I get downstairs and it's the same as it was last time. Lights flashing, music blaring, people dancing.
I walk around, thinking about going into the dance floor. Warrington comes up to me and looks me up and down.
"You look nice tonight, Lilith," he says. I smile. "Wanna take some shots?" I nod, and am we go to the bar.
This time there's more of a variety of alcohol. Good.
"Two shots. Strongest shit," Warrington tells the kid behind the bar. The kid nods and starts to fill two shot glasses. "You planning on staying here the whole night?" he shouts over the music.
"I don't know," I say loudly. "It depends if I get bored or tired. If not, I might."
He nods and grabs his shot glass, gesturing for me to do the same. I grab mine. We tilt our heads back at different times.
He starts having a coughing fit as I cough a few times. He tries to talk, but keeps coughing. Whimp. He starts pointing to the dance floor. "Do you— want— floor?" he tries to ask in between coughs. I nod, grabbing his hand. He looks down at it and smiles as we drag each other to the dance floor and start dancing to the music.
We dance and dance and dance until I'm sure my legs are jello. I kept getting drinks, and they are a hell of a lot stronger than they were the other day. Like a lot a lot.
After a while, I stumble out of the dance floor, with my half filled drink in hand. I look around for someone I'm friends with, but come up emptyhanded, obviously. I see Riddle against the wall, same as last time. Black clothes with a whiskey in hand. He taps his ringed finger against the glass. The music drowns out the clinking sound that they make against each other.
I walk, sort of stumble, over to him and lean against the wall, trying not to loose my footing.
"You're drunk," he says, looking at me while taking a sip of whiskey.
"Nice observation," I mumble, slightly slurring my words, fixing the strap to my dress. "You seem happy, as always."
"I'm an enjoyable person."
"Apparently, considering I want to light you on fire."
He hums and takes another sip of whiskey. "You should go back to your dorm and call it a night before something happens."
"What are you implying?" I ask, tilting my head. I wince as my head touches the wall, not hard, but it still hurts.
He sighs. "The boys here aren't trustworthy. They take advantage of girls like it's their jobs. I don't want them laying hands on you."
I furrow my brows. "Do you actually— care?" I act surprised, putting my free hand over my heart.
He rolls his eyes. "I don't want them laying hands on anyone. Especially not you." He says the last part so quietly, I'm surprised I heard it over all the noise.
"So you do care!"
"Shut up."
"That's surprising."
"Go to bed, Lilith."
I gasp. "Did you just— use my name?" I gasp again and shake my head. "I can't believe it. Do you have a soul, Riddle? Is that it? I didn't think you had one."
"You ramble when you're drunk."
I point at him. "You're heart is colder than my dorm, and my dorm is like Antarctica."
He sighs. "I will carry you to your room if I have to. You need to get rest and sleep the alcohol off."
"Pfff," I say, waving him off. "I thought we went over this, I can handle my alcohol."
"Why are you getting so drunk?" he asks.
I'm taken aback by the question, though I don't know why. I tilt my head. "I feel like getting drunk. Drown my life in it all, maybe I'll get drowned too. Put me out of my goddam misery."
Maybe I should call it a night.
"Go upstairs to your room."
"I'm not that drunk. I can stay for a few more minutes."
I guess I'm going to call it a night.
