Lie To Me

I rush inside hurriedly, and dump all my things in a heap on the floor, this was so strange. Thoughts swirled around frantically in my head, I was confused. Why was Rory asking about me? Could his sister possibly be the girl I'd met in town? That was impossible, but those eyes, there was just something strange about them. I  decided my only way to find out what was going on was to talk to Sophie. I quickly dialled her number and she picked up on the first ring,

"Hannah?" She asked,

"Yeah, its me,"

"Are you alright? Your voice is shaking,"

Was it? I hadn't even noticed, I calmed myself down and began to talk,

"Sophie, about Rory," I say,

"Oh yes! Apparently his sister's dying to speak to you, look Hannah I'm really sorry, I'm going to be a crap friend and end this conversation, I'm seeing Rory again tonight, but I promise I'll text you or something about it!" Before I can get a word in, even to say goodbye, she's put the phone down and cut me off. Hmm, that was strange, I thought, trying to not let it upset me. It's late and I've had a busy day with the boys and I've got another busy day ahead of me tomorrow with the concert, so I go upstairs and fall asleep almost as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I wake up to the sound of my mobile ringing, I glance at the screen, it's a number that I vaguely recognise although I'm not too sure who it is,

"Hello?" I say, my voice sounding tired and sleepy,

"Hannah? Is that you? I wasn't sure if I'd remembered your number right," a familar voice says to me,

"Sophie?" I ask, wondering why she's phoning from her house, "How did it go last night?"

"Oh it was great," Sophie sighs with happiness, "but I've lost my mobile, that's why I'm phoning from my house,"

"Oh," I reply,

"And Hannah," Sophie begins, "Some strange things are happening, I mean, I love Rory, and he says he loves me, but he's becoming awfully interested in uh, you!"

"What?" I say, astounded,

"I know, I know, it's weird. But he's been asking if you're still with Nathan and how you're coping with the hate and then, this was really strange, he asked for directions to your house! He says it's because his sister is desperate to meet you,"

"What?! Did you tell him?" I asked, shocked at this news,

"No, no of course not, what kind of friend do you think I am? I said the next time you see Hannah you can ask her yourself,"

"Oh, that's ok then," I say, breathing out a sigh of relief, for some reason it makes me anxious that Rory wants to know so much about me,

"But Hannah," Sophie starts again, "I think he took my phone, and I think he's lying to me,"

"What?" I say, for what feels like the hundredth time, "what makes you think that?"

"Well last night we went to a restaurant for dinner, and I got up to go to the bathroom, and I remember seeing my phone in my bag, and when I came back we got up and left and when I arrived at home I took it out so I could text you and then it was gone."

"Oh, are you sure it's not in a side pocket or anything?"

"Nope, I turned the whole thing inside out."

"Well, I'm sure it will turn up, don't jump to conclusions just yet," I say to Sophie, trying to listen to my own advice as well,

"Alright, thanks Hannah, love you," Sophie says, ending the call,
