Chapter 3 ~ Tonight I Feel Invincible

Nathan walked me out to my car and gave me a parting hug,

"I'll see you tonight Hannah," he said to me, a smile creeping across his lips in the most adorable way.

"Alright then, I'll see you later" I reply and get into my car. As I drive away I see him still standing at the entrance, waving at me. I bet he's still standing there and waving even though I've turned the corner, I thought. I turned on the radio and sang along to all the songs all the way back to my house with such a happy and excited feeling in my stomach. It hadn't really sunk in yet, I'm going out with Nathan Sykes from The Wanted. I have honestly no idea what he sees in me. I was always the weird one at school, the girl who'd never had a boyfriend.

I arrived at my house. I liked my house, it wasn't too big yet wasn't too small either. It was just a medium sized farm cottage practically in the middle of nowhere, but I thought it was pretty. I had made it my own and painted the front door a nice sky blue with matching window panes. I'd managed to also grow a small arch of white roses around the front door. The brickwork of the cottage was nice as well, it wasn't very modern, just big slabs of grey and white lodged here and there with lichen and moss growing on the occasional stone. I had a small garden that ran all the way around my house, at the back I had a little vegetable patch and a small pond where I kept some fish. Around the front in the garden there were numerous flower beds dotted here and there, although there were no flowers at this time of year, it was only February after all. In the bottom right hand corner of the garden was a little apple tree that has never produced any apples for as long as I've lived here, which is quite disappointing to be honest. I keep hoping that one day I will find an apple on it. One of my closest friends has come up with the ridiculous idea that when an apple does appear on it then I have found my one true love. I say that's whole load of rubbish, she just says I don't have any hope.

I walk up the small stone path towards the door, the cold icy wind rustling my hair and clothes. I reach the door and put my hand underneath the doormat for the key, unlock the door and then go inside, shutting the horrible, cold February weather out. I head up to my bedroom and then collapse on my bed, thinking of today's events, just going over them in my mind. I begin to think that I've imagined everything when my phone vibrates in my pocket, giving me the fright of my life. I open the message, it's from Nathan:

Heyyy Hannah! Looking forward to seeing u tonight! Is 7 a good time? We're all just meeting at the bowling alley, is that ok? If not u can give me directions and I'll come and pick u up if u want? xxx

Aww he's so sweet, I think to myself, smiling like an idiot at the screen of my phone. I reply with:

Hi! Yes, 7 is a great time. That's absolutley fine! It's ok, I know where the bowling alley is but thank u very much anyway! Looking forward to seeing u too! xxxx

I glance at the time, it's nearly 5, oh god I don't have that much time left, and what am I supposed to do about my dinner? Just as I'm stressing out about that, I get another message from Nathan:

Alright that's good. Aww you're welcome love :) Oh don't have dinner, because I've got that sorted out. Kelsey and Nareesha will be there too, is that ok? xxxx

My stomach felt as if it had been flipped over twenty times as I read that, I'll be having dinner with him! And I'll be meeting Kelsey and Nareesha! Oh no, what if they don't like me? They're so beautiful and amazing and I'm just an ordinary journalist girl who isn't anything special. Despite all of my anxious thoughts, I replied with:

Ok then! Ok, yes, that's absolutely fine xxxx

But it was as if he could read my thoughts because he sent back:
