A/n: for plot convenience and drama, I have decided to ignore physics, logics, weather inconsistencies etc. Don't pay attention to the details on how Lou can walk outside in the storm, or how the snow layers didn't collapse etc. That's not the important issue. It's only Loubbie and their inability and constant failure in communicating that's important 🙈

Also, for the sake of the story, I am placing them in bad situations such as lack of hot water, no power etc, thereby making them use olden solutions. Just for the sake of drama.

Debbie in Lorien, Day 2: (cont'd...)

Though it was morning 9 am, the luminosity inside the cabin was low. the snow covered the windows and therefore no light was peaking in. Storm was still present, wind gushing and trees rattling. The outside Environment was too dangerous.

Ignoring all that, Lou spent her time thinking about her messed up life until her stomach growled. She hadn't eaten anything since last noon and it's already 9 in the morning.

Fuck! Debbie drove all the way to Lorien and she didn't even have dinner. She cannot tolerate hunger. Whenever she skips, she goes weak. Shit! I should've cooked something

Lou immediately got up, using the flash light of her phone as light source, went to her room where Debbie was sleeping. Well, Debbie wasn't sleeping, she was pretending. She too had spent time thinking and when she heard Lou's footsteps she closed her eyes and covered herself with sheets.

Lou tiptoed and walked inside the bathroom, placed her phone on the counter such that it illuminated the bathroom. She finished her routine and then decided to take shower, removed her clothes. Too cold, yet she stood under the shower, turned the knob. She realised one thing. The water was freezing. It was so cold, she shrieked at first. Debbie rushed near the door holding her phone, worrying something happened to her.

"Wh- what happened?", she asked, standing in front of closed door.

"N- nothing. The water is... Freezing", Lou said, her teeth clattering. Really, what was she thinking when she stood under the shower. It was a miracle water wasn't frozen. The power system was off since yesterday and it was snowing badly, temperature below 0° Celcius (whatever the hell it is in Fahrenheit). Maybe the hot water maintained by the system before the power went off had helped in keeping the water still in liquid form, but not enough to keep warm.

"Oh, okay. You alright?", Debbie asked, breaking Lou's thoughts.

"Yeah, yeah. I am. I am alright"

Lou now was out of shower enclosure, dried herself quickly and stood in front of the mirror wearing her robe. She was shivering. She looked at the toothbrush. She needs to brush but definitely cannot rinse in that cold water. She sighed. She had two options: brush and suffer another cold water incident, or repair the backup system and get the power back on. She cannot repair the transformer in the grid, that's not her job. She can repair her own system though, provided the issue is minor.

She sighed again. She needed to repair first. But she also needed to warm up her body. She picked up her phone. It indicated 30% battery.

Shit!

She walked outside, still shivering, phone in her hand. Debbie was standing, waiting for her, holding her own phone.

"I'll try to repair the generator system. Else we're dead here. The grid won't be repaired anytime soon. Officials won't respond", Lou spoke, her teeth still clattering.

"But the storm is horrible. I don't think the weather will clear any time soon", Debbie said, concerned. To be honest, that concern was more towards shivering Lou than the weather.
