Combining your parent's pelts

We need to genetically create you and you littermates. So I am going to use a punnet square to demonstrate this.

First, we have to figure out the mom's genes. If your mom is red, the first part of her (shortened) DNA code is OO. Otherwise, it is oo.

Next, black. Every cat has black, although red always goes over it. To show plain black use BB. To show chocolate, you need bb. Cinnamon coloured cats use b1b1. If you want a grey cat, put BB.

 Lastly, dilution. If your cat is not diluted(aka. black, ginger), put DD. If your cat is diluted(aka. grey, cream) put dd. So my parent's codes would be:

OOBBDD for my mom and ooBBdd for my dad.

So we put this in a punnet square. In the first box of mom's genes, we put OBD and we do the same in the second. For the dad it is also oBd in both boxes. So with these combos, we can get only four tortoiseshell kits(well, actually calico, but I'll explain that later...)

Now, if you're wondering how to make other cat colours, here's the answer...DILUTION!

Black= grey

Red= cream

Chocolate= lilac

Cinnamon= fawn

My littermates and I all seem to be tortoiseshell!

Let's move onto white. You need to find the average to roughly calculate the white on a cat's pelt.

In my case, we add 20%(my mom's white) to 70%(my dad's white) and get 90%. When we divide this by two, we get 45% white. That means that all of my parent's kits are calico cats, which can be both male and female.

Next, markings. Tabbies can have both tabby and self(solid) kits, however solid cats can ONLY have solid cats. For example, the cats I made can be calico or calico tabby mixes, which are super cute. Some types of tabbies are:

Mackerel tabbies- 'Normal' tabbies. They have straightish stripes all over them.

Classic tabbies- tabbies with swirly stripes. They are very possible.

Spotted tabbies- they're...well..spotted!

Ticked tabbies- they have ticked or flecked fur. Look it up.

Now, lets get back to RP(I hope this wasn't too boring. Please tell me if I missed something!)
