Jennie angrily clutches the gold-lined paper in her hand. How dare he. After almost a year of not even acknowledging each other, he sends her this?
Jennie had met Lee Jun-ook at a college party 2 years ago where Jun-ook asked for her number. After 3 months of him pursuing her constantly, she agreed to date him.
They dated happily for 13 months, a little over a year. One night she came back from her trip early and was going to surprise him. When she got to his small apartment in the center of Seoul, she was shocked to see a pair of high heels in the entryway.
As she continued further into the apartment, she saw clothes scattered across the floor and heard soft moaning noises. When she entered the bedroom she meets the eyes of Jun-ook and some woman lying on top of each other half-naked.
Jennie had immediately left, leaving the cheating asshole behind. She didn't cry until she got into her car and drove to her friend Lisa's house. There she broke down and sobbed in her best friend's arms.
Jun-ook, the bastard, had the audacity to beg for her forgiveness and even yell at her, saying he knew she needed him and couldn't live without him.
Little did he know, Jennie doesn't need any man. She had harshly rejected him and locked him out of her house. She and Lisa even went to the bridge where they had put a promising lock and clipped it off with pliers, dropping it into the murky waters.
Now, two years after, he was getting married to the woman he cheated on Jennie with and invited Jennie to his wedding. The dickhead.
Jennie angrily shuts her door and walks out of her apartment, still clutching the envelope tightly in her hand.
Marching down the street, muttering curses, she wrinkles the paper, even more, glaring at her feet. Not looking where she was going, she bumps into something, falling flat onto her butt.
Rubbing her back at looking up at what she bumped into, she meets eyes with a handsome young man dressed in a long black coat.
He grins down at her, his lips forming a boxy smile, and reaches an arm out to help her up.
"Are you okay?" He asks once she is upright. She dusts off her pants before sheepishly smiling at him.
"Yes, I'm sorry." She replies, bowing her head at him a little.
