In the end, Chuuya followed Dazai from one room of the building to the others. He went through introductions with people and names he wouldn't retain. They all smiled, and acted happy with the arrangement. It irritated him but he didn't say anything, just gritted his teeth, and drug his steps.
There was nothing much about the building he didn't suspect. Plenty of offices, and people milling about. A steady stream of laughter echoed from somewhere.
"What are you all expecting me to do?" Chuuya asks, breaking the silence between him and Dazai.
"Well we are partners again, and there is a case we'll probably end up taking for today," Dazai glances backwards, before entering a small room. It had a singular window, a desk, a few bookshelves, and appeared like any other office.
"What kind of case?" He wonders, and Dazai stops his rummaging through papers to answer.
"There's been a situation with many young girls going missing, none of which have come back alive."
"Then how do we know what we're doing,"
"Evidence on the bodies, and left at the scenes,"
"So what does that have to do with us?" Chuuya questions.
"We'll be handling an infiltration mission," Dazai responds.
"Neither of us are young girls, Dazai,"
"No, but there are two who've agreed to join us,"
Chuuya looks at the door, and footsteps echo before it opens. Gin and Sariban walk through, a small conversation going between the two of them.
"Have you got that paperwork, Osamu?" Sariban asks, blatantly using his given name.
"Almost found all of it, Haiya,"
"You were supposed to have it ready before they arrived," The woman frowns, and walks over to look through the pieces scattered about.
"I know, I know, I lose track of time." He smiles at her.
"You've had a week," She answers, tearing several sheets from the mess. A few moments later the woman had collected a stack about an inch high of paper, and slid it into a folder.
"What would I do without you, Haiya?" Dazai asks, draping an arm over her shoulders.
"Nothing productive," She responds, throwing his arm off of her. She turns to Chuuya and Gin, and smiles too nicely.
"If you two would follow me, I can go into detail on the case and help explain our plan, along with any adjustments that may need to be made to accommodate you both." Haiya strides back out the door. Gin glances at Chuuya before following after her, and he follows suit. Dazai took up walking beside him silently.
Gin takes a seat next to Haiya, leaving them on the opposite couch.
"How much did Osamu tell you?" Haiya questions, looking up at him while sorting papers into piles on the table.
"Just that young girls have been going missing, and not being found. Then a small bit about an infiltration mission," He explains.
"Alright, shouldn't have expected more from this dumbass," She nods her head in his direction, and he smirks.
"You're so much better at explaining it though Haiya," He drawls, and she frowns.
"Young women have been disappearing on a regular basis, roughly two nightly. Never more than three, never zero. Though it's taken some time to find some of their identities." Haiya gestures to a stack of papers, each with a photo clipped to an information sheet. "We've been able to figure out that a small group of men, wealthy from the stock market rise, have been working as predators. They're pretty much taking the girls, using them, then putting a bullet through their heads and tossing them aside."
