Y/n's POV

After two months in Italy, I've finally returned to Canada. Jungkook and I are heading back to school, and let's be honest—having connections inside and outside the system means you can pretty much do what you want. Jungkook is sitting beside me in the car, chatting with his father, Butler Jeon. It's amusing how sweet he is to his dad, considering he's as devilish as I am. Both of us work for Master Kim. I recruited Jungkook, and though he and his father were hesitant at first, they eventually came around.

After school, we'll head to the training house, where Master Kim's men undergo their drills. There's a headmaster to oversee them, but I'm the one in charge. For now, though, it's back to school life.

We arrived just as the day was in full swing. "How's the girls?" I asked Jungkook as we walked through the hallway to our lockers. "Which girls? Your 'chicks' or the Asians?" he teased, grinning. I rolled my eyes at him. "I don't have any 'chicks.'"

Leaving him behind, I grabbed my things and headed to our first-period class.

In Class

Our professor, Mr. Michael, was discussing mental health today—a topic that piqued my interest. I focused on taking notes, especially on points that might be helpful for upcoming quizzes.

Then, one of our classmates, Jessica, raised her hand.

"Does anxiety or depression lead to psychopathy? And what's the difference between a psychopath and a sociopath?" she asked, her questions earning murmurs of interest from the class.

Professor Michael smiled warmly. "Good questions, Ms. Jessica. Since many of you are curious, let me explain."

I listened closely, eager to learn something that might help me understand myself better. After all, I enjoy inflicting pain—killing, torturing, and deriving a twisted sense of satisfaction from it.

From the Lecture (A/n: via Mr. Google)

"Psychopathy," Professor Michael began, "is a chronic mental disorder characterized by abnormal or violent social behavior. Psychopaths are unstable and often aggressive individuals."

I raised my hand. "How do psychopaths choose their victims? Are there studies on this?" The professor nodded. "Yes, there are studies. Psychopaths often choose their victims based on how they walk, among other subtle cues."

I made a note of this.

"Are psychopathic tendencies genetic?" Jungkook asked, ignoring the rule to raise his hand.

"Research shows that severe antisocial behavior has about a 50% heritability rate," Professor Michael explained. "However, the genetic specifics remain unclear." Absentmindedly, I muttered aloud, "So psychopathy is a personality disorder, not a mental illness, and there's no cure."

The class fell silent.

Professor Michael smiled and added, "That's correct, Ms. Y/n. There's no cure for psychopathy."

The discussion shifted to sociopathy after no further questions were raised.

From the Lecture: Sociopathy

"Sociopathy," the professor continued, "is a personality disorder characterized by extreme antisocial behavior and a lack of conscience." He elaborated further: "The key difference between sociopaths and psychopaths is that sociopaths are often 'hot-headed.' They act impulsively without considering the consequences. Psychopaths, on the other hand, are 'cold-hearted' and calculated. They plan their actions meticulously to achieve their goals."

Fascinated, I raised my hand again. "How can you tell if someone is a psychopath or a sociopath?" Professor Michael replied, "Sociopaths act impulsively, while psychopaths are strategic. A sociopath might lash out in the heat of the moment, but a psychopath's aggression is premeditated."

The bell rang, cutting the class short.

"Read pages 28, sections A, D, and E," the professor instructed as we packed up.

No One's POV

As Y/n lingered in the classroom, she approached Professor Michael with one last question.

"Are psychopaths capable of love?" The professor studied her for a moment before replying, "No. According to Perpetua Neo, a psychologist specializing in psychopathic behavior, psychopaths cannot develop empathy and, therefore, cannot genuinely love anyone."

He handed her a business card before she left. "If you ever need help—or if someone else does—this clinic specializes in mental health and personality disorders." Y/n blankly stared at the card before tucking it into her pocket and leaving.

Outside, Jungkook noticed the card and teased, "Planning to get yourself diagnosed?" Y/n scoffed. "It's not like that. Professor Michael gave it to me out of nowhere. Maybe he thinks I've got issues."

Jungkook laughed, slinging an arm around her shoulders. "That's because you do have issues."

In Seoul, South Korea

"Jennie! The car is ready!" Mrs. Kim called from downstairs.

"Coming, Mom!" Jennie replied, tying her necktie before grabbing her bag.

As she joined her parents, her father was taking his vitamins, her mother holding their dog, Kuma, while Butler Jeon waited outside.

On the way to the car, Mr. Kim asked, "I hear a boy's trying to get close to you. What's his name?" Jennie scoffed. "His name is Kim Jongin. But I don't care about him."

Before her father could reply, Butler Jeon interrupted, "Master Kim, Y/n contacted me. She says, 'Terminé.'"

"Do you have her contact number?" Mr. Kim asked, but Butler Jeon shook his head. "She used my son's number," he replied, handing over his phone.

Mr. Kim typed a simple response: "K."

Jennie glared at her father. "How long is Y/n planning to stay abroad?" "That's her choice," Mr. Kim said nonchalantly.

Frustrated, Jennie slumped in her seat, dreading the rest of the ride.
