Matteo's pov

Val and i were sitting in the waiting room waiting for any news about riley . I sent ava to stay with my dad who was reluctant to even talk to me .

I contacted riley's brother and he has been pacing up and down the hallway for the past 2 hours .

"This is your fault"

"I know."

"Calm down there soldier this is the russians doing"

"I should've taken her home with me" he mumbled as he continued pacing .

"If your gonna spew negativity you can leave okay?"

"Who the hell are you to tell me what to do when my sister is fighting for her life because of him"

"Riley is a grown ass woman who knew getting involved with matteo could get you shot or worse"

"Not making me feel any better val"

"This is ridiculous" jake went up to the receptionist and demanded to see riley .

"His a real pain in the ass"

"Im gonna call lox"

I stood up and took out my phone and called up lox .

"Tutto curato?"

Translation : Everything taken care of

Translation : yes it's safe to come back

"Grazie"

"Capo is riley okay?"

"Still haven't heard anything"

"Let me know if she's okay"

I ended the call and went back to val and jake to see the doctor talking to them.

"Is she okay?"

"Mr del luca she's okay luckily the bullet didn't hit anything serious"

"Oh thank god" i sighed.

"Im sorry to mention this but there could also be a possibility that she won't be able to have children"

"What? You said the bullet didn't anything serious"

"Like i said it's a possibility"

"This your fault now my sister won't have kids" jake pushed me and i growled.

"Im getting sick of you throwing tantrums act grown for a moment"

He spat on the floor and stormed off .

"Does anyone of you wanna go see the patient?"

"Im gonna go check on jake" val patted my back and walked off.

I followed the doctor to riley's room and we walked in .

He nodded and left the room . I sat next to riley's bed and held her hands .

"Im so sorry about this riley , i should've let you walk out of my life and now you won't be able to have kids"

"Fuck im so stupid , we should've left for the cabin weeks before this whole russian mess"

"Matteo?" Riley whispered as she opened up her eyes.

"Hey amore" i helped her sit up and gave a glass of water that was on the table next to her .

"What happend?"

"You got shot don't you remember?"

Her hand immediately went to her stomach and her face looked pained .

"Im so sorry about this riley"

"Am i okay?"

"The doctor said there's a possibility that you won't be able to have kids"

She looked down at her stomach and rubbed it .

"I won't have a baby?"

My heart clenched at her heart broken face as she stroked her belly .

"It's not definant"

"Please matteo that's just the doctor's way of letting me down easy"

"I'll get another doctor to examine you the best one in italy i promise"

"Im fine matteo i don't need a fancy doctor to tell im never gonna be a mom"

"You didn't pull the trigger stop blaming yourself , you're in the mob kinda have to suspect such stuff"

"All of them are dead i promise you that"

"Yeah she's with my dad"

"Well i wanna take a break from reality"

"Wanna head to the cabin just the two of us?"

"What about ava?"

"I think she would like to stay with my dad a little longer"

"When do i get out of this hell?"

"Now I'll go hook some things up"

"Okay" i leaned down and kissed her .

"I really thought i was gonna lose you"
