My Motherland!
Painful tears,
Poured down her eyes.
Like permanent paint,
Filling her with more regrets.

My Motherland!
She feeds everyone.
Yet, we pay her with endless defeats.
Making her starve in desertful hunger.
Quenching the bitter thirsts of ourselves instead of hers.

My Motherland!
Expanding energies,
Enigmatic expressions climbing her faces.
And just above her is another headache, A plane crash.
Impending impendinents,
Offensive words like odours,
Tears and bloodshed pours again.

My Motherland!
We say we want peace
We say we have hope
We say we want prosperity
In the land where sincerity has flow down the slope.

My Motherland!
Obscure objections we give.
Occupational choices we make.
Yet, we call this hard work and determination?
Like rainbow after rain
Let's work the change and pray Nigeria would be great again.
