"Do you guys mind if I call up a few friends?" Alyssa asked.

Liz turned her head back toward her friend. "No, not at all." She said. "I was just going to bed anyways."

Santana was already asleep and Liz got her bed on the pull out. ready. She had a movie on in the background so she could fall asleep to it. Alyssa booted up her Mac and FaceTimed her friends. Soon enough, she saw the faces of her friends from Philadelphia staring through her computer.

"Hey!" She said.

"'Sup, Lys?" Connor asked. "How've you been?"

"Pretty decent. What about you guys? Nate, how's Quebec?"

"Cold." Nate groaned. Alyssa and Connor laughed at him. "How's Georgia?"

"Pretty nice, actually!" Connor beamed. "We've had such beautiful weather here, I can't believe how nice it's been lately!" Nate rolled his eyes and Alyssa couldn't stop laughing.

"You guys doing anything for the break?" Lys asked.

"I still have classes." Nate responded. "I don't get off until the 11th."

"Connor? You?"

"Same down here, actually." He said. "What are you doing for your break?"

"I was gonna meet up with Maddox in New York. It's too bad I won't be able to see you guys." She replied.

"How long are you on break for?" Nate asked.

"My classes ended today, on the 27th. My break actually starts on the 28th and I'm off until the 15th." She said.

"You gonna visit your cousin at any point?" Connor asked her.

"I wish. I need to fly home on the 12th."

"That's rather unfortunate." Nate remarked.

"It's getting late here." Connor said. "I should probably go."

"Same with me. Enjoy your trip, Lys!" Nate said as well.

"See you guys!" She said to them as she ended the call.

Well, that was fun. It sure felt nice to see those two idiots again. Liz had already fallen asleep, so she figured it would be better if she went to bed too.

The next morning, Taylor and Presli drove Lys to the airport.

Taylor had bleach blonde hair with black roots. They had on all black clothing and chains wherever they could put them, so their style was mostly Grunge. Presli had red hair like Santana, but it was short and only came down to her shoulders. Presli was going back home to Manitoba for her break, so Taylor offered to take her to the airport. When Santana realized Alyssa wouldn't be able to get a drive from either her or Liz, she reached out to them and asked if they could do it. They were more than willing to help and Presli didn't mind either.

"Thanks for doing this for me." Lys said on the drive.

"Yeah, not a problem." Taylor responded. "I love doing crap for my friends."

Presli pulled out her phone. "Anyone wanna listen to some tunes?" She asked.

"Sure, whaddya got?" Alyssa asked.

"Just 20's hits, nothing too special." Presli said as she scrolled through her playlist. "You got anything?"

Alyssa pulled out her playlist and played some songs. The drive was about an hour long from Acadia to the airport. The forecast called for rain later that day, but she wasn't worried about it impacting her flight. When they got to the airport, Lys and Presli both got out of Taylor's car and they wished the two safe travels. Presli accompanied her through the entirety of the journey through the airport, but had to part ways when Presli's flight was called. After about 20 more minutes of waiting, she was finally called for her flight.

"Alyssa Drew-Bates?"

Lys went up to the front desk and handed the flight attendant her ticket. As soon as she got on the plane, she saw a fair bit of snow falling. She wasn't super worried about it impacting the flight either. As she sat down in her seat, she pulled out her AirPods and played her playlist that she shared with Presli and Taylor earlier. The flight was roughly an hour from Halifax to New York and it was rather foggy, so she couldn't see the Brooklyn bridge when she arrived in New York.

When she finally got off the plane, she saw JFK for the first time in years. There was a lot of people and it was almost as bustling as the city. Almost. Lys decided she would look around for Maddox. Because so many people were there, she couldn't see him. She decided to text him and ask where he was.

Yo, I'm here.

Not even a minute went by before he responded.

Welcome!

Alyssa quickly texted him back.

Where are you? I'm at JFK.

A couple minutes passed. She collected her stuff and made her way outside before Maddox texted her again.

Just outside the airport. Where are you?

Alyssa looked around for her friend. There was a lot of people outside John F Kennedy Airport but none of them looked like Maddox. All of a sudden, a voice could be heard growing louder and louder.

"Alyssa!" It said, revealing a masculine sounding voice.

"Wait, Maddox?" She said as she frantically looked around for him.

Suddenly, she saw someone running up toward her. He had his hood up, but his hair was still in its noticeable style and was still the same brown from years ago. Finally, the two friends met face to face for the first time in almost three years.

"Hey, Lys." Maddox said with a smile.

"Hey." She said back.

(A/N): Ahhhhhh I'm sorry! I would've had this out sooner, but I've been super busy all week. I'm also trying to get back into my writing habits, so bear with me here. However, thank you so much for your patience. I wish I had this out on its intended day. I really do. And don't worry. You're in for a treat next chapter. I promise.

So, this week sure was something. I have a gut feeling I won't be in for a super great one this time, but I am ready to be proved wrong. Fingers crossed.

But anyways, I would like to thank you all so much for reading and for your patience.

Bye for now!
