You wake up to the gentle touch of Cate's finger traveling down your cheek, your neck, your shoulder, all the way down your arm.

There is something so celestial about waking up next to her. Especially when it's paired with some morning cuddles. You’re both sleepy and warm, and she pulls you into her arms for a few more stolen moments of dozing off.

You wake again to the smell of coffee, watch her sit on the edge of the bed, holding a mug.

"Goodmorning." She softly says, her rooted voice flowing through your ears as her face expresses warmth. "Ready to go back home?"

Your drowsy face reflects a smile. "No."

You think about last night, about her willingness to share, and you wonder if she still remembers.

"Ready for questions?" You softly ask, your tone casual, unlike the hesitance you feel inside. An unsure feeling that vanishes as soon as her expression brightens.

"Yes." She holds out her mug. "I've made you some coffee."

The smile on your face lingers as you sit up straight, the sheet half draped on your bare figure, and take the coffee from her hand.

"I love you." You tell her as both of your palms are heated by the mug.

She smiles, and raises her brows. "Because I've made you some coffee?"

"Among other things." You state warmly, making you earn that velvet laughter.

There is a moment of silence as you bring the mug to your lips, when you take the first sip, habitually closing your eyes and smiling. And when you open your eyes again, you see she's focussed on you. You see how she looks at you with affection.

"What?" You carefully ask, your cheeks flushed.

"You're adorable." She smiles.

You get giggly, and look down at your coffee. "I feel adorable."

Her deep chuckle echoes through the room. "You should. I don't love you for nothing."

"What else do you love about me?" You softly ask.

"Apart from everything, you mean? I'd say there's not much left." She jokes, making you grin. Her voice softens. "What do you love about me?"

You take a sip from your coffee and smile. "Pretty much the same."

There isn't the smallest hunch of doubt in her affection for you as you look into those kind blue eyes, and you know she's aware of your strong affection for her as well.

"Can't we just stay like this all day?" You ask longingly, your hand taking a light grip on hers, your eyes meeting her blue ones with tenderness.

"I wish we could." Her eyes shift down, her fingers softly fumble with yours, and she sighs. "But we have to go."

You look down at your hands, fixated on the way her gentle fingers stroke and entangle with yours. You know she's right, and you will give in, but not without some effort to try and stay here, with her.

You look up again, giving her the chance to see your grinning expression. "Try and make me."

She smiles, pleased by your attempt. "I won't answer anything until we're in the car."

You smirk, knowing she's outplayed you within a single phrase. "Of course you wouldn't."

You finish your coffee with a few big gulps, earning a confounded look from the woman sitting before you, along with a slight chuckle.
