ABOUT Colombian born actress known for her first being a stage actor, where she was apart of the original Broadway cast of Dear Evan Hansen. She originated the role of Alana Beck. And after two years of being on Broadway. Rojas made a tv debut in the Netflix original television show "She's Gotta Have It." Where she played Clorinda Bradford. But just only after two years of the Netflix television show being cancelled. Rojas had made her first movie debut in If Beale street could talk where she starred alongside; Regina King and Stephan James. Rojas won an Oscar for lead actress in playing Tish Rivers in the movie. Alongside her movie mother, Regina King who won an Oscar for supporting actress.
TRIVIA Through "She's Gotta Have It." Rojas developed a romance with her co-star Anthony Ramos when filming began in the summer of 2016. As of 2021, the couple are now engaged to each other. And are also the lead actor and actress in the brand new In the heights movie, with Rojas playing Sloane Figuero and Ramos playing Usnavi De La Vega.
FAMILY LIFE She immigrated to United States at the age of twelve. Rojas came with both of her Afro-Colombian parents and three younger siblings. Then began to be raise in Brooklyn, New York. Rojas found love for acting through all the drama classes she took in middle school. And soon she attended La Gaurdia High School.
