Chapter 7: Time...

MARSHALL POV:

"Um.. I.. why?" I asked surprised that she asked me to do that.
She knows I have a severe stage fright so I don't know how to react.

"I can't sleep, and frankly I can't get your song out of my head, its just repeating over and over." She said blushing a little.
"Anyway we're inside no one can hear you but us... please? Just for tonight?.." She persuaded.

" Ok...what do you want me to sing? " I asked quite curious.

" The song you just sang. " She said.

"What?! Why did she chose that?!" I thought confused.

" Erm.. why that one? " I can't stop myself from stuttering.

" Because I feel like.. I'm not really sure.. it's silly, for some reason I feel like it's for me. Although I know it's not." She said lowering her head down.

I feel wronged since that was actually really only for her.
but I can't say that, so I just went with it...

" Ok ..." I said and prepared my voice.

"But before you start, can I ask you a question?" She suddenly stopped me.

" Ok?.. What is it?" I asked curious.

"Why do you keep avoiding me?" She asked looking at me in the eyes.

" I- I'm not avoiding you!" I hurriedly tried to explain.

" I'm not dumb Marshall, sure I'm not that smart but I can still tell you're avoiding me, but what I don't know is ... why?" She asked looking at me.

" It's because.... I...." I couldn't tell her. I have no courage to say what i feel for her.

"You hate me, don't you..." She said closing her eyes trying not to show her tears.
"I think my heart just broke."

" N-NO! No! You got it all wrong!" I hurriedly tried to explain.

" JUST SAY IT IF YOU DON'T WANT ME AROUND! DON'T MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME MARSHALL!" She yelled she couldn't hold her tears any longer, luckily we're in closed in my pup house so there wasn't really much noise from outside. None of the other pups noticed.

"I. . . . . . " I couldn't speak... this is the first time I saw her like this, and the worst part is, it's because of me. At this point I hated myself.

"Why? Why did I made her feel that way?! Why an I so useless?! Why was I even born?!" I was practically cursing myself.

" I would feel less hurt if you just said it upfront, then I wouldn't have had hoped that--" She stopped and didn't continue what she was saying, and I didn't have the guts to ask her.
After a while I couldn't bare the silence anymore.
" I... I could never hate you Everest..."
I squeezed those words out of my mouth.
I heard her stop crying. She slowly turned back towards me, While I was looking straight.

"Even if you hurt me, hate me, curse me, yell at me, avoid me, push me away, even try and kill me... I don't think I can ever hate you..."
I finally turned to look at her.

Now she was looking at me with wide eyes.
I continued...
"You're an amazing pup Everest. Possibly the most amazing pup I've ever seen.( You're totally the most amazing pup I've ever seen.)" I thought before saying.
" I'm a bad person (dog), I made you feel that way. This is why I was trying to avoid you, because I don't want to make you cry." My chest is getting heavier by each word I say but I can't stop myself.

"I'm sorry...I don't care if you hate me.
Just please stop crying. That's my only wish." I didn't realize that water was escaping from my eyes.

"M-marshall... I-" before she could finish I went and hugged her tightly.

"Don't cry please. You look terrible when you cry."she softly chuckled and said.
" I won't..." Then I started singing her song. Pulling the words inside me, emphasizing every word I wanted to say to her that I can't Express, softly singing her to sleep.
I didn't stop until I was sure she was asleep.

EVEREST POV:

" As he started singing I felt warm inside, secure, comfortable.
I leaned closer to him, closed my eyes and listened intently to what he says.
Savoring his melodic voice until I fell asleep."

MARSHALL POV:

"In the morning I made sure to wake up early, I carefully got off seeing everest still asleep.
"I fixed her blanket, I walked out and saw chase already awake as usual coming towards me."

CHASE POV:

" I woke up beside Skye, it was officially the best night ever, I'll never forget that.

" I saw that she's still sleeping so I got out gently leaving her side reluctantly.. "

"I still wanted to sit next to her and look at her pretty face."

" but I had to wake up the pups.
I got out and closed the door so that she won't be disturbed. "

"I noticed that Marshall got out early too, which was weird since he always wakes up late, probably dreaming about Everest.
I went to check on him."

" Hey Marshall." I said a little loud.

" Ssssshhhhs.. quite Everest is still asleep." He said aggravated.

"Oops. Sorry. Wait.. what?!" I asked in softer voice this time.

" Yeah she kinda asked to sleep with me since Skye was with you." He said smirking.

" Well-- um to be frank, she just said she couldn't sleep-- so --i - she went to sleep with me..." I simply said.

" Ooohh... Well? How was it?" He asked.

"It was... Great..." I simply said.
"Yeah..." He said looking back at the sleeping Everest.

Sky got out with drowsy eyes, she looked even cuter...

"Hey there princess, good morning!" I said jokingly.

" Thanks my prince." She said smiling again at me.
I turned red, I didn't think she would respond like that...

Marshall: "Awwww.."

I swear I'm so close to slapping Marshall that time.

We both turned our heads away...

Everest got out next because of the noise.
Noticing that Marshall wasn't by her side she walked out. She saw him talking with Chase and skye.

" Good morning pups." She said.

"Good morning sleepy head." Marshall said jokingly, while she blushed.

"Awww... You two were together last night." Skye said.

"You're one to talk, I saw you go into Chase's pup house last night. I wanted to sleep with you, so I just slept with
Marshall " She retorted.

Now skye and Chase are tomatoes.
