Chapter 6: After class

Emma POV

After class Killian wanted to go get a drink but I told him that I was busy. I needed to ride since I really haven’t ridden. He seemed sad but got it. Everyone needs to practice. I needed to go to my room since I wasn’t in my riding clothes. Once changed I grabbed my phone and headed over to the barn.

Walking over I saw the soccer guys practice and goofing off. They were trying to impress the cheerleaders but honestly they aren’t anything special. The cheerleaders don’t really even have to try out they just sign up and they’re in. We have the worst cheer team in our region.

I was thinking about Killian after that and I didn’t even realize that I was already at the barn. Not a lot of people were there, just a few grooms and an instructor. One of the grooms waved as he was moving my horse out into the aisle way. I grabbed my tack and started tacking him up.

There was someone in the indoor so I decided I would go and ride out around the school. Maybe jump a few benches if no one was around. Horseback Riding isn’t very popular around here but it’s by far the schools best sport. We’re always number 1 in the region. Lacrosse is right behind us, but they always think they’re better than us.

Once I was up on my horse I started to make my way around the campus. The soccer players must have left because when I got there 30 minutes later they weren’t there anymore. I started riding around at a trot and canter and people were starting to gather around. They were acting like they have never seen a horse before.

Everyone wanted to come and pet my horse but I didn’t want random people just petting my horse. They could get him sick and I really don’t need that at all. I worked him a bit more in front of the crowd but then left to find somewhere more peaceful. I decided the only place I would find the peace I wanted was back at the barn so I started heading back.

When I got there no one was in the outdoor so I went into the ring with jumps and started fooling around. Just doing little 3 foot jumps. I was just jumping until one of the grooms said I had to leave so I jumped off and walked him in. I untacked him and before I could even do anything the groom walked off with my horse and put him back in his stall.

At this point I was so tired I didn’t even feel like walking back to the dorm but I knew I had to. I almost wish that we had golf carts or something because walking just seemed like too much effort. Thankfully I got the energy and just decided to walk back.

 I saw Kylie leaving as I was walking into the building, she said she was getting food. I asked her to bring me back some because I was also starving. I didn’t even realized how long I was out for until I got back to the room and realized that it was 3 hours later.

Kylie came back 10 minutes later and brought back Chinese food. Praise the lord for this girl, I was really in the mood for this! It’s a nice thing she is one of my best friends and knows my order. Once we got settled I turned on Netflix while we were arguing about what show to watch. I wanted to watch Catching Fire but she wanted to watch Friends. After arguing about it for 20 minutes I finally won and we turned on Catching Fire.
