I was just minding my business until Ms. Parker called my name. She was my foster mom for now, I never stay in one home. I went down the stairs to see what she wanted.

"Yes Ms. Parker" I said respectfully. She looked at me disgusted.

"Mr. Freeman is here again" She said while rolling her eyes.

Ms.Parker and I don't get along at all and that's why Mr. Freeman always saves me. He works with Child protective services.

"Riley I'm disappointed" He said with his head low.

"Well you shouldn't be we all know I ain't ever going to find a home" I said with my arms crossed.

"Well this was the last home I could put you in, with all the fighting you do you have to go" He said.

"Go pack your things were leaving now" He said.

"Bu-" I was able to say before getting cut off.

"You heard him go and pack your stuff" That bitch said.

I swear I was about to hurt her ass if she keep trying me. I went up to the room and packed all my stuff. I only have a back pack because I knew I wasn't staying long. I went back down and followed Mr. Freeman to the car.

"We both know she didn't like me" I said out of nowhere. He looked at me for a split second before focusing on the road again.

"Yeah I know but she was also your last home. I know your only 17 and you don't deserve this but people don't want you because of your anger issues, and you're a teenager people mostly want children" Mr. Freeman said.

"But what does my age have to do with anything. It doesn't make sense" I said getting annoyed.

"You know what never mind I already know the real reason nobody wants me" I said putting my head in my hands.

It was silent until we got there. Mr. Freeman looked at me before saying something else.

"I didn't want you to end up like Mariah. And I tried to save you all these years" He said.

My face softened because Mariah was my best friend and she was just like me, but they sent her to the school because she almost killed one of the other kids. I mean the kid didn't deserve that but she was being racist and also knew how we got. We got out of the car and stepped into the school.

"Well who do we have here" A man said at the front desk.

"Um this is Riley Brown I would like to sign her in" Mr. Freeman said.

"Oh well she's already in the system she just never came" The man said raising his eyebrow.

My last foster mom wanted me in here so she did all the paperwork but Mr. Freeman got me just in time. The guards grabbed my wrist and out of reflex I was about to slap him but he caught my hand.

"Ms. Brown you don't want to do that" He said while squeezing my hand.

I whimpered because of the pain then he finally let go. He showed me a room with different things that I needed. I grabbed me a few sweats with hoodies.

...

After he was done showing me around I went to go check my room. Once I found it two girls stopped talking to each other and stared at me.

"Your new right" A light skinned girl with curly hair all over her head said.

"Um yeah" I said nervously putting my stuff on an empty bed.

"Well my name is Unique" She said shaking my hand.

The other girl just stared at me for a minute, she had box braids and even though it was kinda dark here her skin looked like it was glowing.

"Riley is that you girl" She said coming up to me. I looked at her confused until I saw her whole face.

"Mariah" I asked. She nodded her head eagerly.

"Wait what you in here for" She asked concerned.

"Well I was getting into a lot of fights and my new foster mom is problematic so we argue a lot. Oh and Mr. Freeman couldn't find anyone else who wanted to take me in" I said like everything is normal.

"Damn Mr. Freeman one good man and he was fine, child" She said which made us all laugh.

"Well girl since you our roommate let's show you around this shit hole"
