A Home is a Home
With rooms full of memories
There is nowhere else I’d rather live
Toys strewn across the floor of one room
And clothes become the carpet of another
Beds with personal touches
And rooms with new coats of paint
Furniture I’ve known since birth
And decorations we bought last week
Melt together
And make the space welcoming
Movies against one wall
And bookshelves lining another
Pictures in the stairwell
Paintings by my mother hanging on the walls
Things here and there with meaning
Food in the fridge
Cats running down the hallway
My home is a giant scrapbook
And that’s all I want it to ever be
