You wake up. Alone in a world stretching for millions and millions of miles. Seemingly infinite. "there has to be an end of it all" you think. You are alone. You cant remember the last time you saw a familiar face, someone like you. Villages. Full of those different than you. They speak another language. Look different, live different. Love different. You go out into the world, stray from your comfortable habitat, and brave the unknown. The forgotten.

Remnants of civilisations past. Forgotten mineshafts, crumbled pyramids, protected temples and abandoned vessels litter the world. What happened here? Where did everyone go? Why cant you remember? The answers you seek may never be found. A lost art of knowledge. An ancient and unknown language. Perhaps in the past you could read the language, understand its words. Know what secrets it holds. But all that's left is you. You're searching. For what? Meaning? Purpose? Or simply someone to call a friend? Attempts to fill the hole left behind by your loneliness fall flat. A horse is loyal, but not loyal enough to fix you. You find a village. Burnt down, destroyed, deserted. What happened here? Why cant I remember? Skeletons lie around, those fortunate to stay dead. Lucky enough to avoid the curse of eternal roaming. Wandering the earth in vengeance. You build, remake, and restore all, hoping that they come back. Whoever it was. Maybe they were like you. Maybe they're the answer to all your problems. You finish. And the waiting game begins. You wait for days, weeks, years but no one comes. So you leave. Beginning the journey once more. In

Solitude.
