This is a prequel to The Act of Duplicity -- a story that follows the timeline of the show. However, you don't need to read TAoD before you read this, both of these books will be able to act as standalone novels, everything is explained as we travel through the story. This will be happening before the first book in Shadow and Bone trilogy.

If you came here from The Act of Duplicity you are well aware of our beloved Nataliya and how she is. Now forget all that you know. This story is going to be a lot different than what you are used to in TAoD as it is going on a few years before the show actually starts. Since Nataliya is older than Genya and Alina and all of those in this timeline she'll already be in the Second Army but she'll only be a Grisha soldier nothing more.
We all know Nataliya as this badass fearless bitch who gets what she wants. Well, she wasn't always like that and only experience and getting hurt made her snarky and able to manipulate. Don't act surprised when you find out that in this story she will be very much naive and gullible, she'll be scared and inexperienced and a lot more emotional than what she is in TAoD. So come along in this journey of Nataliya's growth as she transforms from a little baby Grisha fighter to the boss bitch Second in Command and Darkling's lover.
