Chapter 7:
"Here's the revised novel you asked," Jihyo said shortly she opens the office door of her boss
"Put it on my table" Sana answered looking at the outside of her building through her window
"Have you decided about the characters of your stories?" Sana asked and faced Jihyo
"Yes! Wait let me get my note pad" Jihyo excitedly run outside the office and grab her notepad, where she worked for two days
Thinking about the characters she wants,
She indeed learns a lot from Momo from the last meeting they had
Jihyo didn't knock and just enter the office, earning a weird look from the secretary
"You gotta learn how to knock Ms. Park, I don't want anyone in this building gossip about what relationship we have," Sana said without looking at Jihyo
And settle herself on her couch inside her office
Jihyo scowled and look at Sana's secretary who is typing on her computer
Already sent to her friends that Sana and Jihyo look close
Not just a boss and employee relationship
"I don't like your secretary" Jihyo mumbled and settle down in front of Sana
Sana raised her right eyebrow
"Don't you know she is the one spreading gossip about your personality here? Although we already know that you're--- uh" Jihyo mentally slap her head because of what she said and almost uncover
Stupid Jihyo, you're so stupid why did you say that" Jihyo thought
"What? What am I?" Sana asked and cross her legs waiting what Jihyo to speak
"That uh,- you're a great boss. Yeah! Great boss" Jihyo said and smiled awkwardly
"Liar" Sana said and shook her head in disbelief
"No, I'm not a liar " Jihyo defend herself
"I know she is the one spreading gossip about me," Sana said to Jihyo
"Then why you--" Jihyo processing everything "ah! I'm sorry" Jihyo bows her head
"Why are you saying sorry?" Sana asked because Jihyo is weird
"I am so sorry for saying bad words to your girlfriend," Jihyo said
"What?! Girlfriend?! Who? Yeri? No way!" Sana raised her voice
"I mean No" Sana said because she sounds more defensive.
Jihyo grinned
"Okay, I won't say more then" Jihyo giggled and open her notepad
"Stop smiling like an insane woman! we are not! okay?" Sana rolled her eyes
"I am not saying anything here," Jihyo said but she is trying to hide her smile because her boss is being funny right now, she look awkward loosing her sanity in front of Jihyo
Jihyo didn't know that her boss sometimes can lose her reserved side
"But you're smiling! Urgh! I can't stand this! leave!" Sana pointed the door
"I will step outside of your office, and your company then" Jihyo shrugged
"Are blackmailing me?" Sana asked
"Why would I?" Jihyo challenge her boss
"You're an unbelievable woman. Tell me the characters, Hurry" Sana asked and rolled her eyes again
I can't stand this annoying woman. Sana thought Why can't I just let this woman go?
"Okay, this is the boy character
-I want my boy character, owner of a well-known company. But he is a spoiled brat who gets what he wants, his secretary is a poor woman who needs to work for her family." Jihyo said
"That's all you got? It's so clichè" Sana commented " I don't like it" She added
Jihyo sighed, and move on to her next idea.
She kinda expect that it won't please her boss taste
"I have another idea here then, the girl character is teen popular, she is loved by a lot of men. She can easily get what she wants because of her beauty, while the boy is a nerd totally opposite of a girl. He is an outcast" Jihyo proudly said to her boss
"Then? The girl will fell in love with the boy in the end? It's clichè again" Sana said to Jihyo
"Fine, how about this one, the girl is a nerd, she has a high grade is the school she is academic excellent she is talented, then she needs to tutor one of a gangster in their school," Jihyo said
"What is your target reader? Have you think about that?" Sana asked her " I can't believe you come up with these ideas where you should have a lot of opinions because you're an editor chief " Sana added to Jihyo "I still don't like the idea" Sana added
"Definitely you're not one of my target readers" Jihyo firmly said,
She rolled her eyes on her boss, and think about an idea
"If you don't want a clichè story then, how about my story? I mean the girl character can get my life then I will think about the boy character" Jihyo suggested.
"What? Are you going to expose your private life just for this book? Do you want people to know your life story?" Sana asked in doubt
"What? It's not clichè like what you're saying, losing parents at the age of 8 left with two siblings, 6 years old and 4 years old. Grow old with our mother's twin sister. " Jihyo casually said to Sana
"So that's your story?" Sana asked can't believe what she heard but was still annoyed
"What's your story then? Live in a fancy house, fancy cars, luxury clothes, get what she wants that's why you grow like that? A cold, spoiled brat CEO, who belittled all her employees?" Jihyo mocked her
"Me? You don't know my story, so you don't have a right to judge what life I walked through just to get here" Sana burning gaze to Jihyo
"You mocked me first," Jihyo said not breaking their eye contact
"I didn't mock your life or your ideas, I speak what I needed to say, who is the boss here? Who is the one who will help you with your book huh? If you don't want to listen to my opinion go do whatever you want. If that book will publish in my company It will surely put in the place where insects are located, where people didn't pass by or didn't even take a second look and surely hate your work, choose" Sana challenge Jihyo and stand up
"Where are you going?" Jihyo asked
"Smoke, do you smoke? You're giving me a headache" Sana said and put a cigarette between her lips
But Jihyo quickly run to Sana and grab the cigarette between Sana's lips
"Yah! What are you doing?!" Sana yelled to Jihyo
"Cigarette is bad for your health," Jihyo said, "do you want to burn your lungs huh?!" Jihyo yelled at Sana
Sana was shocked by what she heard,
Jihyo is clearly concerned about my health. But why? Sana thought
"Yes, have you forgot? My company my rules, that also applies to my life. My life my rules" Sana said pushing the thought of her editor in chief is acting weird in front of her and tried to get the pack of cigarette in Jihyo's hand
"I don't care about your rules, WHEN YOU ARE WITH ME MY RULES! I will get back with another idea and don't you dare smoke!" Jihyo warned Sana before she leaves the office holding the cigarette
"The guts of this woman" Sana mumbled
And seat down, remembered what Jihyo said about her life,
"YAAAH! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! I AM THE BOSS! I SHOULD BE THE ONE WHO IS IN CONTROL!" Sana frustratedly yelled in the air because Jihyo is already outside of her office
Sana undo her necktie
"She also had a hard time growing up" Sana mumbled and get back to work
