YOUR POV

"I don't understand. That should've drained it." Uncle Henry said. We got back to Sammy's office only to find that it was still unaccessible due to the ink.

"Okay. Then there must be a second switch and you just made it accessible. Lets back track. Was there anywhere else that was blocked off? Maybe flooded?" I asked. It didn't take Uncle Henry long before he was walking back down the hall.

"This staircase was flooded when I last checked it. But now its not. Then the switch must be here. Lets go." He said. He walked down the stairs and I stopped to read the sign.

Infirmary. Anyone found faking illness will be docked a full weeks wage. Not sick, not paid.

"Wow. Harsh. But... justifiable." Then I followed Uncle Henry down the stairs. The room was small and cozy. Except of all the ink, this place was nice.

Then I heard Uncle Henry groan. "Oh no. There's no valve." I came to his side. There was a switch and then a pipe next to it. The pipe had a both sticking out of it, probably where the valve went.

"What does the switch do?" I asked and pulled the lever. I heard the creaking of a door coming from the other room.

"Stay here. I'll go down there." Uncle Henry said. Then he walked down the stairs and disappeared through a doorway.

I was alone in the room so I couldn't help but feel aware of my surroundings. I never liked being alone when it was dead silent. It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop in the other room.

So it scared me badly when I heard a sudden thud.

Soon after, Uncle Henry returned with the missing valve in hand.

"Did everything go okay?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"What was that this earlier?" I asked.

"You heard that?" I nodded. "That was me. There was one of those ink things holding the valve. I had to crush him." He said.

I gave him a shocked look. "You had to... CRUSH him?" I asked. I felt terrible for that poor creature.

"Dont look at me like that... I feel bad already. Anyway. Lets press on." He said. He placed the valve in place and turned it. You could hear the ink draining.

"Come on. It should be clear now." Uncle Henry said.
