She was under a huge iron suit, fixing underneath it.
Technically, it was made by Hatsume but, the figure she used was not accurate. So, she is checking what was really the problem.
Struggling with the spanner, she heard Hatsume speaking to someone. She cannot see because the suit was blocking everything but judging from the tone, Hatsume was excited.
"Hey Mei, can you give me a larger spanner?" she asked from her spot. After some sec, through the little space, she saw a hand with a larger spanner. "Thanks!"
No response
But she brushes it off because she knew that hand was not of her friend Hatsume.

"Who were you talking to, Mei?" she asked right after finishing her work.
" Oh, some Hero course students aka 'The Big Three.' You know, asking me to advance their gear."
"Oh..." was all she could say.
'Maybe it was one of the big three who pass me the spanner'.
