the boy and the girl wandered through the woods, leaving their footprints behind in the snow.
"are you sure we're going the right way, parker?" the girl follows behind him, her small feet swallowed up in icy whiteness with each step.
"i think so."
he turns his head to make sure she's still following after a few minutes, and with another step, he disappears from view, falling down the surprise incline and landing awkwardly.
the girl watches parker fall in horror, his body rolling and leaving behind a trail of blood.
he finally stops once the ground levels out, and the girl screams for help that no one will hear.
she moves slowly down the hill, collapsing next to parker and holding his hand until he falls unconscious.
help arrives a few hours later and little does the girl stella know, parker will never walk again.
