It was Nora’s first day of school and they were wearing their favorite shirt. It was black and had popcorn in the middle and said popcorn is always the answer. Nora walked quickly to school in fear of being late and for them to get to know the campus a little better. As they were passing by all their neighbors houses they tried to see if one of the houses were abandoned so they could have a cool hang out place if Nora makes some friends that day. Nora finally arrived at Roger Bacon High School and Nora noticed that a few houses down there seemed to be an old beat up pink house. “This is my lucky day,” Nora thought as they walked through the two red doors leading into the school. As Nora walked into the narrow hallway they thought “can't’ wait to be misgendered today a and for a long time.” Little did they know that their mom who is not at all okay with Nora being non-bianary already made a note for all the teachers and staff, even the principal, to use they/them/their pronouns. Nora almost cried when they were not called she. But they kept their cool and just went along with it.
