Nora ran home that day to thank their mom for not letting them face a world of discomfort and embarrassment. Their mom simply said “no problem, I’d do anything for my wonderful kid.” Nora almost fell backwards because their mom really called them their kid, not their daughter, or very rarely their son, but their kid. This was a completely new thing and Nora loved it. But they were sad when they couldn’t bost it to their friends. This made them think of their dad again, which was strange because this house made Nora think of their dad. Maybe the house had some kind of connection to him. “There is no way that could be true.” They thought and just carried on with their day.
