The dark shadows come out in the dead of night
The heartless minds and mindless hearts flourish
A pair of icy eyes stare at me through the withering bushes
And those eyes radiate hatred
Pure, dark hatred
And I stare deeper and notice the emotionless bottom
Which was a still limitless pit
The cold aura of abhorrence pierced my heart like a frosty blade
And all the warmth of the world disappeared;
Like it was sucked into a black hole
But I held on to the happiness
I held on to the hope
I held on to the love
And all the rare emotions that were scarce in this insensitive world
Then there was a flash of light;
That blinded my eyes
A vision of a million brilliantly shining atoms
That spread as far as my eyes could see
And when it was reduced to just a dim flickering flame
They were gone.
