You and Connie were in public together on the rare occasion. You two didn't really enjoy being out together holding hands because of the dreadful stares you would receive.
But today felt different. You guys were at a pride festival that was being held in New York City. You two decided to take this trip for your two-year anniversary.
It felt amazing to be surrounded by others who felt the same way as you two did and people who have dealt with similar things.
It was now close to midnight and there was music playing and people dancing down an empty alley. It was a beautiful sight honestly.
You and Connie were dancing to I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston and just enjoying yo moment.
"With somebody who loves me!" you and Connie both shouted out the song as you pulled her closer to your chest.
It was toward the end of the song when she grabbed your cheeks and pulled you in for a long and steamy kiss. You heard people around you cheering and shouting.
When she pulled away she had the biggest smirk in her face while you were standing there shocked.
"Con, that was our first kiss in public."
"I know, I wanted it to be a statement."
