(14) a first kiss. (𝗗.𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗦𝗢𝗡)

The ducks were having the classic Christmas party that was held at coach Bombay's house every year since the ducks started.

Y/n never played hockey but she was Adam's twin sister so she always just hung out with them leaving the team to become very close to the amazing Y/n Banks, and some becoming closer than others.

The first time Dwayne and Y/n met was the last game of the Junior Goodwill Games when Y/n flew done with the Grandfather to see Adam play. When they won the game Y/n toward the boards to congratulate her brother. Adam let Y/n onto the ice, but right as stepped onto the ice, Dwayne accidentally ran into her knocking both of them over. Both became smitten at that moment, Adam wasn't very keen on the whole situation though.

They had always been shy around each other, too scared to talk to one another. That was until Charlie and Dean forced Dwayne to ask Y/n out on a date during the beginning of their senior year. Dwayne got the courage to ask her and thankfully, she said yes. They went out on a picnic date and had a great time.

Around Thanksgiving is when Dwayne finally asked Y/n to be his girlfriend, but the problem was that the couple hadn't had their first kiss yet. All the ducks, except Adam, we're patiently waiting to hear when it happened, and it finally did at this very Christmas party.

Adam, Y/n, and Dwayne all rode together to Bombay's house. When they got out of the car, Dwayne snatched Y/n's hand up immediately.

Little did they know that the team, excluding Adam, had planted a mistletoe right above the door so they would be forced to have their first kiss.

Adam knocked on the door for it to be opened right away to Charlie's face, as he was the biggest shipper for Y/b and Dwayne's relationship. Adam walked past Charlie to start talking to someone other than the lovey-dovey couple.

"Hey, Y/n, hey Dwayne!" Charlie waved his hand as he saw the pair walk up the stairs to the door. Fulton was recording the whole thing while Connie was ecstatic to see this happen.

Y/n walked through the door, Dwayne following right behind until Coach Bombay yelled out something.

"Look, they're under the mistletoe!"

Y/n's cheeks flushed as she looked up to see the mistletoe bush just hanging above their heads.

Dwayne looked down at Y/n who had a small shy smile on her face. Dwayne grabbed her chin and gave her a cute little peck on the lips, making everyone in the house fruit into cheers, except for Adam who spit out his drink and was ready to fight Dwayne for kissing his sister.

Y/n laughed as she hid her face in Dwayne's chest as he rubbed her back, leading her into the house. Connie and Julie ran over to Y/n, practically screaming in her face while Dwayne got plenty of pats on the back from his teammates until he got to Adam who looked pissed.

"You're lucky I like you, Robertson. Keep her safe, got it?" Adam pointed a finger at Dwayne until he slowly backed away and over to his sister to complain about kissing his friend in front of him.

As all the commotion was going on, Dwayne peaked over at Y/n who was looking back at him. It was definitely a very Merry Christmas that year.
