Fairy Valley, not far from the volcano.

They were put into a cage, with an electrical barrier around it. Phoenix ran up to the cage electrical field. She peered out, seeing a guard. "She's hurt, she needs help! Please!" Phoenix shouted out. The guard looked at her, as if she was some maniac or something, and went away.

He came back with a healer, who unlocked the cage to come in. The healer, who was golden in color, looked at Merf. He went up to her, falling to a sitting position. Phoenix took out a book she had kept, and began reading it. The golden dragon seemed to feel for Merf, sighing. "I'm sorry... Why did you run away, Merf..?" he whispered.

He bandaged the wound, stepping back. She had just begun to regain consciousness. She looked up, seeing him. A flush of red and pink flowing through her grey shaded scales. She lifted her head, barely, and looked him in the eyes. "Scorpio?" She whispered. Still hurt to talk. "You're awake! I'm so glad you're okay!" Scorpio exclaimed, careful not to be too loud. "Well, sorta. So.. Your mom has changed.." she looked at Scorpio, tilting her head to a different position. "Yeah.. Ever since you ran away she was harsh on everyone. You were one of the top students, Merf! Why'd you run away?" he asked, feeling concerned. "I didn't run away.. I was forced to go to a different school by my parents. They were such bad parents! I missed you guys.. I missed my friends." Merf explained. "Please don't tell Platinum! She'll want me to join again, and I don't want to!" Merf shifted her position again, feeling her neck aching.

"Just saying, we all miss you.. Mom thinks you're a traitor. I should really tell her, Merf. She could-" Merf glared at him. "Don't tell her.." she said, cutting him off. "As you wish.." he said hesitantly. "You're bandaged up, by the way. I'll get some food for you guys tomorrow. Good night.." He walked out, his golden tail swaying behind him.

"Well, he seemed nice. Old friend?" Phoenix spoke up, putting her book away. "Yeah, old friend." Merf replied. "You sure he ain't a crush?" Phoenix giggled. "H-huh?! What? No! Just a friend!" Merf felt herself blush a fury of red and pink on her black face. "You're blushing, Zodiac!" Phoenix laughed. "N-not funny!" Merf said, feeling embarrassed. "Mhm, well, good night Zodiac. Sweet dreams!" Phoenix said, smiling and went to the corner of the cage to sleep. "Good night." Merf said, getting control of herself again. She put her head down, going to sleep.
