Glances bounce between us, the checkmate of the game.
Silence echos, echos in the caverns of my mind
Through my pulse points to where I store your name
Aim, twist, cut. Synchronised in our movements.

We smile at each other, grinning through the tears
your hands follows the checkpoints as it checks the rhythm,
It still stammers and blips, when your green eyes shine,
Need is invalid. We've made a decision.

How do we go about our lives? Knowing we ruined it for each other?
We fight, we fuck, we leave, we lie.
What we were and what we've become,
Racing miles past the destination, this has to be goodbye.

Scales are balanced equally, but I'm never one to lose.
So I'm leaving. I can't follow, you ask please stay
and I hear and yet I don't, I can't stop myself.
Credited role poison or elixir? I'm leaving either way.

Screams echo final times, as I turn around and go,
I don't want anything, well maybe you,
Shh stop the screams, it's better this way I know.
Don't blame me, you'll thank me for this choice.

I leave you at the train station, to ensure you get to her back home,
I decided your destination, you no longer get to roam.
So keep your ticket clutched safe and sound,
I stay in the shadows, the sun and train eastbound.
