I Hate You

Chapter 3

"What's going on? I mean has this Lila girl hypnotized everyone or something?" Marinette commented in annoyance as the stories spread around seemed too exaggerated to be true.

"You wouldn't be a little jealous, Marinette?" Alya suggested.

"Huh! Me, jealous? No way," Marinette replied as she went to find where Lila was heading to with Adrien and to investigate her game.

Marinette had followed them to the library, "Where is she?" 

She had spotted Adrien alone take out a book from his bag. Tikkki gasps as she recognized the book from Marinette's purse and flies out.

"Tikki hide!" Marinette orders as she saw Tikki flying out

"Marinette, Adrien's book! I need to get a closer look at it."

Marinette looked at her with a confused expression, "Why are you so concerned about his book? Hide, Tikki!"

But Tikkki ignored Marinette as she flies to a bookcase right next to Adrien as Lila arrives to sit beside him.

"Tikki!" Marinette called out but Tikki ignored her. At the end of Adrien and Lila's conversation, they made their separate ways. With Adrien rushing, he dropped the book which Lila took. Confirming Marinette's conclusions towards Lila. Marinette wanted to forward in telling Adrien but Tikki stopped her.

"No! You can't say anything to Adrien yet. I need a chance to check out the book first. If it's the one I think it is we have to get our hands on it!"

"I don't get it? Exactly why would we need it?" Marinette asked in confusion.

"I'll explain to you once I know for sure. Please, we mustn't let Lila out of our sight!"Tikki said which Marinette nodded in agreement. They followed Lila for the rest of the day as she went through shops and then heading to the park to meet Adrien. Right after she threw the book in the trash.

"I'll get it–"Tikki says as she flew out of Marinette's purse. 

Marinette tries to go after Tikki but she had already flown into the trash canister to get the book for Marinette. Tikki was finally able to retrieve the book and confirm her suspicions.

"This is the book Marinette!" Tikki revealed.

"Great now let me stop Lila's lies about me," Marinette says as she then went ahead transform into Ladybug to reveal the lies. After causing a scene she return to Tikki concern over the book. Tikki revealed to her that it was time for her to meet the guardian and show him their discovery. 

"I've always believed that whoever possessed this spellbook must also have the Peacock and the Butterfly Miraculous," Master Fu explained on why he wanted know where it came from.

"Wait a sec, you mean whoever owned the spellbook could be Hawk Moth?" Marinette concluded.

Master Fu nodded in response and asked where she had found it. Marinette kept the truth and said she found the book at school.

"You didn't see who it belonged to, then?"

"No. No, I...didn't." Marinette sighed feeling guilty for lying. Master Fu then discussed the importance of translating the book content to understand more of it secret. With that ending there conversation they decided to reconvine in what they should do next.

On her way home Tikki asked on why Marinette had lied to Master Fu.

"I couldn't tell him that Adrien was the one who had the book. As much as I hate him, he's not capable to be a villain. A spoiled kid like him with Miraculous powers. I need to get to the bottom of this on where he got the book," Marinette stated.
