Prologue

As soon as I finished my meal, I left the table and went to Kuya Luke's room. He will be studying in our province so he can manage the firm of my papa and Lolo. He'll be the next one who'll manage and be the next owner of Fontabella Construction Firm Industries.

"Knock, Kuya Luke, " I speaked through the door.

I waited for several minutes and it suddenly opened, revealing Kuya in his pants and white shirt. Pagkalapit ko sa kaniya ay niyakap ko siya nang napaka higpit. Maybe in the meantime, we will not see each other. It's also my way of saying goodbye.

"Ang sweet mo naman ngayon, bunso," sabi niya at ginulo ang buhok ko.

"Please, kuya, I spent hours making that hair! Huwag mo namang guluhin," galit kong sabi sa kaniya kahit hindi naman ako galit. I walked to his mirror and started fixing up my hair.

"I'll be gone for years, uuwi na lang ako kapag need ko na ha?" Nakita ko siyang papalapit sa gawi ko at pumunta sa gilid para akbayan ako.

"I will miss you, kuya. 'Yong pasalubong ko ah kapag uuwi ka na rito!" I demanded.

"Sure, bunso." Yumuko siya nang kaunti at tumingin sa akin. "Where's my kiss? " he asked and positioned his cheeks. It is normal for us brothers to kiss each other and a way to say goodbye.

"Muah! Aalis ka na ba talaga, kuya?" I asked for the second time to make sure he is really leaving for now. He's the closest to me out of my brothers, and I just cannot think of my life without my big brother.

"Oo, bunso," he sighed heavily. "Dad doesn't want to take the place kaya ako na lang. Ayaw n'yo rin naman eh, but it's fine kaya nga business kinuha ko roon." He sat on the bed and got the shoe below it. Naupo ako sa tabi niya at sinandal ang ulo sa kaniyang balikat.

"Umuwi ka agad, kuya."

"Don't be sad, para namang mawawala ako ng matagal basta kapag ano bantayan n'yo sila Mommy at Daddy dito sa bahay huwag kayong magpapasaway," turan niya pa sa akin.

"Yes, sir!" Sumaludo ako sa kaniya na parang sundalo at natawa naman siya sa ginawa ko.

"Gotta go, baka gabihin kami sa daan." Tumayo na si kuya at kinuha 'yong itim na travelling bag niya.

"Bye, kuya, I love you!" sigaw ko sa kahit magkalapit lang naman kami.

"Love you, too, huwag pasaway ha? Muah." he also kissed my cheeks once again. Naiwan pa ako saglit dito sa kwarto niya at inilibot ko ang paningin ko. Nakita kong naiwan niya yung picture frame namin kaya kinuha ko ito at itinakbo sa kaniya sa baba.

"Oh Austin, bakit hinahapo ka?" Mom asked.

"Mom, kuya forgot our family picture," I said, then handed it to kuya.

"Such a sweet brat." I heard Dad said. Mom just glared at him sharply, causing all of us to burst into laughter.

"Kuya oh! Dalhin mo baka makalimutan mo kami." Inabot ko ang frame sa kaniya at huminga nang malalim saka ngumiti.

"Yeah kuya, baka pagbalik mo limot ka na." Kuya Jared joked.

Lumapit si kuya sa amin at kinuha ang frame ng picture. We formed a circle and hugged each other tightly.

"Thanks, bro. Sige, bye I'll miss you all! Muah muah muah!" he said while flying his kisses.

"We'll miss you, too. Ingat!" sigaw naming lahat at kumaway sa ere habang pinapanood ang paglayo ng kotse.

Nang makalayo si kuya Luke ay pumasok na kami sa loob ng bahay habang naka-akbay sa balikat ko si papa.

"What do you like to be when you grow up?" he asked, and let Mom and those three of my brothers enter the house first.
