Her eyes glistened with tears,
As she stared at the building.
Not wanting to enter,
Holding her mother's hand tightly.
A girl of her age came,
She held her hand tightly.
Together they entered the building,
Their second home.
Months turned into years,
They became sisters.
They were inseparable,
Like body and soul.
Her eyes glistened with tears,
As she stared at the graduation ceremony.
Not wanting to leave,
Holding her friend's hand tightly.
As the dreaded time arrived,
She looked at her long time bestie.
Together they left their second home,
Not letting each other go.
As she boarded her plane,
They muttered each other goodbye.
With a painful intake of breath,
They let each other go.
As she sat on her plane,
Memories flooded her mind.
She realized it isn't their final goodbye,
It was a hope filled goodbye.
