AFTER SPENDING THE NIGHT with Atlantes, he offered to train Ember until she had to leave. She said yes, of course, but was taking a break at the moment to watch Luz practice her glyph magic and to patch up her and Luz clothes after their adventure to get Amity's badge back.
Her mind wandered to the kiss she had received from Amity. Luz had been acting a bit strange since the event, but when she got home she immediately told Eda about it. Eda was amused at how much her student was panicking, but helped her calm down. Her cheeks heated up at the memory of the kiss as Atlantes approached her with a smile.
"You've been making incredible progress with your magic, Ember." Atlantes compliments, and Ember seems to relish in the praise from her dad as she set down the clothes. "You take after me," He cockily breathes on his fingers, dusting off his shoulders. "Not to brag, of course." He snickers as Ember lightly hits him.
"Thanks, Dad." Ember smiled, the name rolling off her tongue easily, and Atlantes grins widely. "I've also been meaning to ask," Ember shakes her head, closing her eyes momentarily. "Do I have a grandmother or grandfather from your side?"
Atlantes smile dropped, and he sighed. "Actually, I never knew my parents. I grew up in a care group in Bonesborough, and the adults there said I was taken from my family and taken there but they never said anything else."
Ember hummed sadly. "I'm sorry I made you bring that up." She said, exhaling heavily. "But you still have family, me and Mom, and now, Matteo! You're not alone." She reassured, and Atlantes patted her back gratefully.
A wave of silence overtook them, and Ember looked back over at Luz, eyes twinkling as she stared at her crush. Atlantes glanced between them several times, and smirked.

"So, you and Luz, huh?" He asked, raising a brow.
Ember sighed dreamily. "Yeah... wait what?! No! Luz is just a friend." Ember exclaimed, face turning bright pink at her father's words.
