• Chapter 11 •

Y/n's POV

A few days ago, Mr. Aizawa-sensei told us that we will be having a 'provisional hero license exam' where we will have to work hard to get our hero license. And a few days later, the test finally came..

Today was the day for our provisional hero license exam. I was pretty nervous and scared, but I promised myself that I will be doing my best to work hard to become a hero.

I was with my brother, Katsuki, although he was being pretty annoying and hard to handle..

We finished the first test, so we were going to move on to the second test of the provisional hero license exam.

For the second test, we all had to rescue people who needed help while dealing with villains during the attack.

It was really hard to handle a lot of things at once, but I still tried my best to get my hero license and not be too anxious about anything.

Katsuki was being kind of rude to some of the people, but I decided not to worry about it too much and handle it later.

As I was trying my best to work hard, my other friends were fighting the villains. I decided to help the others to become a great hero like everyone else.

The provisional hero license exam ended, and it was finally over.

The whole Class 1-A went to go see if they passed the test. Luckily, all of my friends passed the test ..expect for my brother.

"It's not there!" he yelled. Katsuki was kind of pissed off about it, but I was still happy that my other friends passed the test.

I tried to find my name to see if I passed, after a few seconds of searching my name.. it was there!

"I did it! I passed!"I exclaimed happily.

"Good job, y/n!" Mina said. "I'm so glad that we both managed to make it through!"

"I'm glad, too," I replied. "Anyways, did Todoroki-kun pass?"

"Erm, I don't think I saw his name up there.. so I don't think so..." Mina said.

"Oh.. I'll go check up on him," I said.

"Okay, I'll go with you," Mina replied.

For some reason, the moment I mentioned Todoroki-kun, Mina had a smirking look on her face. I wasn't so sure why..

I went to Todoroki-kun to go talk to him, but before I could say anything, a guy that goes to another school suddenly called his name and apologized.

"Sorry! It's my fault that you didn't pass!" he exclaimed.

I wasn't so sure what was going on, especially because I didn't know what the guy's name was.

"Erm.. what's going on over here...?" I whispered to Mina.

"I don't know.. but I think that guy is someone Todoroki was mad at before," she said. "I think his name is Inasa Yaorashi?"

"Oh, okay. He goes to Shinketsu High School, right?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said. "that's why he's wearing that uniform and hat."

"All right. I guess that makes a bit more sense," I replied.

Next, they were going to pass out our results to everyone.

I looked at my paper carefully and checked to see my score.

"I got 84!" Sero exclaimed. "Look, isn't it amazing? I'm kind of good at this, huh?"

"Nice job, Sero!" Mina said with a thumbs up. "What did you get, y/n?"

"Well, my score is 78 and—" I said until I suddenly got cut off from my brother.

"How is your score 78 even though our quirks are almost the same?!" Katsuki yelled.

"Well, maybe it's because you were being mean and obnoxious to most of the people during the test instead of doing what you were supposed to do," I replied.

"What do you mean?! I was doing was I was supposed to do!" he said.

"Yeah, sure.." I said quietly.

"Whatever.. it's not like I care that you passed and I didn't," he said and walked away.

"He seems pretty mad.." Kirishima said.

"Well, we should be used to it by now. Plus, that's just his whole entire personality," I replied.

"That is true.." Kaminari said.

A few weeks later...

It was a bright, sunny morning. I was sitting down on a bench outside as my hand was under my chin.

"I feel really bad for Todoroki-kun.. he didn't pass the provisional hero license exam. Lately, he has barely talked to me.." I thought and sighed.

"I'm pretty upset that I have barely talked to him. I want to hang out and have fun with him again like we used to.."

I was so focused into my thoughts that I didn't realize someone was calling my name while standing right in front of me.

"Y/n..? Are you all right?" a voice asked.

"Hm- what?" I said. I looked up, and I realized it was Todoroki-kun that was calling my name..

"Are you okay?" he asked again. "You seem pretty upset and worried, is Katsuki bothering you or—"

I instantly got up and hugged him. I always missed having fun with him...

"I missed talking and hanging out with you.. a lot," I said. I was slightly tearing up as I kept hugging him tightly.

"..why didn't you come up to me and ask me if you wanted to hang out then?" he asked.

"My brother was holding me back," I said as I stopped hugging him. "he didn't want me to talk to you again.."

"You shouldn't let anyone tell you what to do. Do what makes you happy.." he said as he softly smiled.

I smiled back, it was a long time since I last saw Todoroki-kun smile. It felt heart-warming knowing that he's happy again.

"Erm, have you ate breakfast yet?" he asked.

"No.. I haven't. I've been here just thinking to myself for the past half hour," I said.

"Oh.. what were you thinking about-?" Todoroki asked.

"Well.. lately you seemed to look a bit sad, and I was guessing it was because you didn't get your hero license.." I said.

"Oh, right.. I forgot about that. Well, it actually wasn't about that.. it was because I really missed you," he said.

"..really? You were sad because you couldn't hang out with me for the past few weeks..?" I asked.

"Yeah.. and I'd like to have fun with you again," he said.

"..I would like that, too," I replied.

"I hope you don't think I was ignoring you for the past few weeks.." he said.

"Don't worry, I don't," I said with a smile.
