As Natalia began to change Talia into a gown she noticed an abundance of bruises, cuts and scars covered the girl's body. The bruises were at least a few days old so there's no way that it happened when she ran out. The bruising around the ribs was concerning and she would definitely have to check if any were broken and as she sat the girl up and looked at her back she saw the most horrific thing she's seen, she grabbed her phone and texted Alessio to come immediately and to bring their father, no one else.
The Arcardi family stood around as they watched Antonio read the text. "Alessio with me, everyone else waits up here unless we say otherwise." As the boys were about to argue back, both Toni and Alessio shoot them a look that told them not to. The two begin to make their way to Nat fearing for what she has to say, she already told them what she found and what she was going to do, so what was so important that only Toni and Alessio should go.
The pair make it to the room Talia is in and in record time, only to be met with a sleeping Talia attached to wires and a Nat with sad eyes. Alessio walks over to his girlfriend to kiss her on the forehead, "What's the matter babe? Why the sad eyes and why is it only us?" Nat sits there in silence thinking of the best way to put this without making them mad, but let's be real no matter how she says it they're going to be livid I mean after all she is their little principessa. She decides to just come out with it. "When I was changing her into a gown to make her more comfortable I noticed some things on her. Now I put a pair of my Nike pros on her so I can lift up her gown to show you and she doesn't lose her dignity in the process." The doctor then proceeds to pull down the sheets and lift up her gown. The Arcardi boys look at their little girl's body that has been littered with marks, scars, and bruises. "Di- did this happen when she ran out?" Alessio managed to force out. "See that's what I thought as well however the bruises are at least a few days old and these scars are up to 8 years old, the newest one being 6 months old at least. Now, these aren't the only thing I found." The men shared a look of confusion as the doctor spoke. They watched as she grabbed Talia by her shoulders and leaned her forward, she untied the back of her gown and took it off her shoulders revealing even more scars scattered across her back.
Alessio looked at his sister's back and the scars that polluted her body. There was one long scar that ran from the back of her neck to the bottom of her back from her shoulder blade to the middle of her back had a list of 7 names and next to each one lay a number, this confused the men why would she have these men's name carved into her back?
They were brought out of their daze when Nat spoke up, "I think she was abused, for years judging from the scar tissue I'd say a minimum of 8 years but abuse never starts straight beating, usually abuse starts as verbal abuse, name-calling, shouting at them for minor things. Then it develops into emotional abuse, telling that no one else will love them, they are unloveable, putting them down until they have no motivation often with little slaps or pushing when there's a minor inconvenience. Then it morphs into physical abuse full-on beatings and in cases that I've seen rape, many households with guardians that have drug users may sell the foster or adoptive child for drugs or to pay off debt and I- I'm rambling about the stuff you most likely don't want to hear so I'll stop now." She lays the sleeping girl back down. "Hang on a minute, turn around I have to lift her gown up and she doesn't have a bra on for her sake let me put something over her." She reaches into the drawers and pulls out a drape that they would normally use for stitches, she folds it over so the gap is covered. She pulls up the gown further so her chest is now exposed, "I didn't see these but because I pulled her gown off her shoulders it caught my eye." Toni had no clue what he was looking at and was waiting for the doctor to speak up but Alessio beat her to it.
