Narcissa's words rang in my ears as Severus tightened his grip around my waist. "Or he'll kill us all." Why would the Dark Lord care about me enough to kill them all? Why would seeing me make him so angry or happy? How do these people know me?

"Narcissa, what is going on? What aren't you telling me?" Severus grows angry as my confusion only grows.

"It's not my place to say anything. Go get him, Severus. It should be you." Narcissa says as she continues to stare at me. What is her problem? Why are both of these women staring at me? Severus looks down at me, "Come with me, Y/n. We'll get him together."

Suddenly, Narcissa reaches for my arm, fear in her eyes once again. "No, leave her with us. You'll want her with us when he sees her. We don't know how he will react... she'll need protection." Severus pulls me away from her grip as his anger begins to show.

"What the hell is going on?!" Severus yells.

"Just go, Severus. The longer we wait the worse it will be," Narcissa calmly says, trying to reason with Severus.

"It's your choice, Y/n," Severus says as he looks down at me, cupping my face with his hand.

"It's okay, Sev. I can't explain it but I trust them. I- I don't know why but I do. Just go to him, Sev. I'll be okay," I reassured him. Severus pulled me into a tight hug and kissed the top of my head before leaving, the ghost of his lips still on my hair as I watched him walk away.

Severus's POV

I walked up the dark stairway to where the Dark Lord was waiting, sitting at the head of the table, looking smug as ever.

"She's here, my Lord."

Y/n's POV

*Meanwhile Downstairs*

"Y/n, what is your last name?" Narcissa asks.

Her question surprises me as it's the first time she has really spoken directly to me and I can't even answer it.

"Oh, uhm... I don't really have an official last name. I just go by Y/n. My parents abandoned me when I was a baby. I only know my first name." It was the closest thing to the truth. My mother abandoned me when I was a baby and I can't remember anything about my family. It's as if there is a whole where any memories of my family should be and if I focus too hard on trying to retrieve my memories, I get a major headache and I can't think about anything else, just the pain.

At this, a man walks in.

"Narcissa, love have you seen-" He pauses as his eyes fall on you. "Y/n? How-?" At this, my anger seems to explode. Everything I have been trying to hold in comes bursting out of me in word vomit.

"Can you all please stop doing that?! Look, I'm sorry about your Y/n. Clearly she meant a lot to you but I'm not her! Look, you guys all seem really nice, but I've never met you before! I'm sorry... I- I wish I was who you're talking about because that would mean I had people who cared about me... and believe me I want that more than anything but I don't know you!" Tears are streaming down my face as I finish yelling.

The man moves closer to me and places his hand on my shoulder. "Wow, he really did a number on you, didn't he? You really don't remember us at all?" He asks as he holds back the tears threatening to spill from behind his eyes. It was strange to see a man who held such authority when he walked into a room nearly breaking down into tears. I could feel his breath on my face as he was practically begging me to remember. He was too close. My breathing began to get heavier as I felt trapped. Narcissa must have noticed this as she walked over to the man.

"Lucius! Give her space! It's not her fault!" She whispered, tensely and pulled him away from me. At this,

Severus walks down the stairs and notices my tear stained cheeks.

"Y/n! Are you alright?" he asks as he runs to me, pulling me into his chest. He looks at Lucius and Narcissa, eyes filled with daggers as he yells at them. "What did you two do?!" he yells, angrily as he pulls me into him even tighter. I breathed in his scent as he stroked my hair, feeling safer than I ever have. I can't explain the sudden urge I felt to defend them. These strangers who I just yelled at not even two minutes ago, I was suddenly feeling the urge to defend them.

"No, Sev! They didn't do anything. They just thought I was someone else. It's okay!" I explained as I pulled away, looking into his deep, onyx eyes, which held so much emotion.

"You're sure you're alright?" he asks as he runs his thumb across my cheek.

"I'm fine, Sev. Now, what did he say?" I asked, trying to get back on track, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible.

"He's waiting for all of us upstairs."

The man, I now knew was called Lucius, spoke up. "Let's not keep him waiting then." He gestured for me and Severus to follow him and Narcissa. Lucius touches your shoulder, guiding you toward the stairs.

"Stick with us, Y/n. We won't let anything happen to you," Narcissa reassures, placing her own hand on your shoulder.
