"Tell me the truth!"
Kylie River
I was sitting at home and was taking the tomatoes out of the fridge to make my pasta.
I had thought about what Ms.Ville said to me.
She knew about us.
Well, at least she knew that something happened between us and that it's not there anymore.
To be honest, I was quite surprised by her reaction. She wasn't angry or disappointed in any way, but rather happy about it.
But she doesn't even know the whole story. What happened between us. Especially in Dubai.
What happened to me.
But I didn't even want to deal with this anymore.
I had invited Ashley and I wanted to do some little shopping with her. Really out into the crowd. Not the same people as at home or at work.
I was going to talk to Dray in the office tomorrow morning. No matter how much he wanted to ignore me, I couldn't pull off my ignorance towards him if I didn't know the whole truth.
He's hiding something from me, something important. There must be a reason why he didn't stay with me that night.
Why he found me but ran away.
Why he does all of this to me.
I poked around in my plate and looked straight out of the large windows at the city.
What if I hadn't chosen this city at all. I would live somewhere else now.
Trying to find happiness somewhere else.
I slowly placed the fork in my mouth, still keeping my gaze on the wonderful city in front of me?
Was it the right decision? Could my life have been easier somewhere else? Or would it have been worse?
Who knows.
You can make as many choices in life as you want, but those choices determine how our lives go. Our future. Ourselves.
A loud knock on the front door interrupted my thoughts.
I put the bowl of pasta on the counter in the kitchen, took my bag out of the cupboard, and opened the door.
"Ready for our little trip?"
I looked directly into Ashley's smiling face and nodded with a laugh before we went to the elevators together.
"Oh god Kylie, you don't know how glad I am that we're doing this again." She said and narrowed her eyes.
"I know I missed it too." I laughed.
Ashley got her car last week, luckily now we didn't have to order a taxi or take the subway.
We were just getting into the car when I heard my cell phone vibrate and took it out to see who I got a message from.
