5. Ghosts

You are here with me but you are not

Your mind wanders somewhere far off

Whatever you do or say, brings her back

Her memories, was where your heart lingered at

Even your silence spoke a thousand words

Words I read always and kept to myself

It hurt me and it hurt you too

Your eyes spoke clearer than your mouth ever could

And I'll be honest, I ran off to places too

Places that were long forgotten

Places by memories, haunted.

You are my happy place, the home where I belong

Did you ever say this to yourself too?

Or what I thought of myself was wrong?

You said you were in pain, she and and her memories hurt you.

You wanted to let go of this trauma, this pain

Because you knew all this ached my heart too

But trust me I can take the pain and I want to

I never came to leave, I'm here with you

I know it's hard, I've been there twice before

But that does not mean I would just let you go

It wont be fair, so I gave you a fair chance

Can't you do it? A leap of faith is all you need

I promise I'll be there to take your hand and set you free

The lanes you walk through now, will bring you

nothing but old pain

It's already cloudy in there, don't let it rain

Ghosts of past will haunt you more

They won't disappear, never, but you can

forget them for sure

Talk to me, love, look into my eyes

Hold my hand and say it out loud

Share your pain, I'd never judge

You'll feel better and that's the only thing I want

These ghosts only live in our mind

Gather them, close the door and leave them behind

Ghosts can't stop you from loving to live your life
