We sat in silence for quite some time, eating our warm food as the thought of us being back together after suddenly losing each other had settled in completely. I couldn't tell exactly what Newt was thinking, he had his familiar stern expression as he chewed his food. Which could mean that he was worried about me, for some reason mad, or just really hated the food.

I decided to break the silence, "Did you miss me?" Newt swallowed his food and gave me a look of disbelief, "Miss you? Of course I bloody missed you!" I couldn't help but laugh at his reaction, but mainly because I felt a little embarrassed for even asking the question. "Y/n, you were gone for nearly two bloody days with WICKED! I was losing my mind at the thought of them doing something to you. Bloody hell, I don't know what I would've done if you were put back into the maze or anything worse. Y/n, I care for you so much and-"

I found my lips on his without a second thought, it was like pure instinct. One single thought of it and I was feeling things I've never felt before. My heart was beating so fast and I could feel my face getting warmer and warmer, the fluttering in my stomach adding to it all. This unforgettable feeling was just...perfect.

I was scared he wouldn't accept it, fearing that I had moved too fast, or that it was a bad time under the most recent circumstances. But when his hand held mine and gave it a tight squeeze, I knew that everything was okay. Just being next to this man makes me feel so happy, but now, in this moment with him. I've begun to feel so many things all at once, I couldn't ask for anything more.

At the sudden lack of air we pulled away, leaning against each other as wide smiles grew on our faces. "I liked that, I really did." Newt admitted, and I just knew that he was blushing. "Really? I'm glad you did, I might have to do it again sometime." Ignoring my threat, Newt decides to make the move this time and kiss me once more. Holding it longer and using his hands to push our faces closer together. Once again, our lack of air become noticeable and we pull away.

"As much as I would love to stay here with you, we are out in the open and the Gladers are still down there somewhere." Newt sighs, and I move my head to get a clear look at him. It's crazy to think that I've fallen for him, that someone is even capable of an emotion like that. "You're right, and we don't wanna get caught now, do we?" I tease, and Newt chuckles while standing up and grabbing his trash. "Shall we?" He holds out his hand to me and I quickly grab my trash as well to join him. "Let's go, boyfriend." He chuckles, "Whatever you say, girlfriend."

The sun was close to setting now, the Gladers and I have found a place to sit atop a rock that looked over The Right Arm. Aris still sat with Harriet and Sonya, Thomas was still with Brenda, and Teresa-

Teresa.

She hasn't tried using our connection, the Gladers haven't spoke of her, were they trying to hide something from me? I don't think that's the case, but personally I feel a little ashamed for not thinking of my own sister when I learned that the Gladers were here.

"Hey guys, where's Teresa?" I ask the group, and they all look at each other with confused faces. "I'm not sure." Minho speaks up, "She was with us before we all changed. Haven't seen her since." An unsettling feeling begins to set in my stomach, where could she be?

"I'm gonna go look for her." I tell them and stand up, "I'll go with you!" Newt volunteers, and I smile at his offer. "I'm sorry, but I'd rather go by myself. Sister stuff, get it?" He seems taken aback for a second, maybe confused? But nods understandingly before settling back down.

"Teresa? Are you there?" I call out to her, blurring out the boys' conversation as I walk away. There's no response at first, but she has to be here. There's no doubting it.
